lindy made these jigs
The genz worm super glo now they are called ice worm jigs but the original name was genz jig
The other is a more common type jig which is the round head jig, the difference though is the jig was an optional rattling kind where the rattle tube was also had a baked on finish compared to the jigs made today. But what really made them great was the paint finish that was used it lasted way longer then other similar jigs, that round head jig was the go to jig for fishing the red river, that red eye would pop under the ice in that dirty water

This is the genz worm notice the smaller hook compared to the new ice worm jigs that are made today with that smaller hook and glow baked on paint was the go to jig for fishing perch in devils lake.

I have used the Genz Worm for years and will continue to use them till there all gone. The Crappies sure like them.

Most of mine the hook rotted off from the hard water in devils lake, the new ones suck. I know there are tungsten lures but against the hook size makes a big difference. And tungsten don't have the jig action of the genz worm and finicky perch can feel that heavy lure and it also seems to spin faster when it's suspended. No tungsten has its place but nothing compares to those genz worm jig for light biting perch.

In the late 90s there was a lead jig with a bill so it swam like a crank. The bill was lead too. It worked good when drifting slow.

LOL no it was a brand name 1/4 oz jig. It was molded with a little bill which helped it dive and gave it a wobble. It was a name brand company like Lindy that made it, maybe Berkley?

I know what Rowdie is talking about, Lunk you are waaayyyy off with your guesses. I probably have a couple laying around but no idea where they are anymore. My drawing isn't the greatest but this is kind of what it looked like from the side.

Yeah thats looking close. Bill was rounded and jig head was more round. I liked them as I drifed Lindy's and jigs a lot back then and they did better than the regular jigs. They didn't come in very many colors and then they just disappeared from the shelves.

I'm not claiming to be an artist but yeah you are right about a little rounder body.

Yes I've seen em, and may even have a few. I thought we're talking about what they don't make anymore? I wish the bill was also lead on the storm jig pictured.

Other tackle I have to use ebay for. Cranks...such as Berkley Frenzy Diver. I'll list more when I have the time to look them up.
