Who do you want to blame? Defense isn't as dominating as it was during the 5-0 start. However, in the NFL when you hold a team to 16 points you should win. Scoring 13 in the NFL where every new rule is designed to allow more scoring is pathetic. There is no doubt they have injuries to the O line but who thought their starting O line was good. AP would make very little difference when there is no opening to start with.

It's OK to blame the coaching staff for play-calling but one has to wonder if the playacting is the major problem. When it's 3rd and 4, what does a receiver run a 3 yard route? Most HS receivers know better than that. How long does a wide receiver need to play before they understand the rules about lining up in the correct spot. Watch any HS game and you will see wide-receivers checking with line judges if they are on the line or off. They know where they are supposed to be. To take a penalty because you don't know if you are supposed to be on the line of scrimmage or off is inexcusable. To many lack of concentration penalties that cost 1st downs piss coaches off at any level.

In short professional player are paid a lot of money to "do their job", inexcusable for some of the mistakes. Is it bad coaching or players that don't care as long as they get a check? Probably a little of both.

Hey Brokeback,
I thought the same thing about Jerry Jones until I heard about his response to the Kris Kyle Memorial.
Growing up south of GB during the Lombardi era and personally meeting Ray, Bart, Boyd & Fuzzy I bleed green & gold but I doubt I will ever forgive Rogers for blowing the games when Brett returned for his enshrinement.

One area I forgot to mention in having a successful team is the GM and owners. In any professional sport if you don't have the GM and/or owners who are willing to buy players who are capable of being the best players then success will be limited. Sometimes (or most of the time) it might not even be the best physical ability as much as the willingness to play for the team.

In short, there is no easy answer to success. Just as there is no easy answer as to whom to blame when things don't go well. There is generally enough blame to go around.
