I'm on pins and needles.

This weekend, my wife informed me that her grandmother had a handyman over who found a shotgun in her closet. This would be her late husband's, who passed away over 20 years ago. The handyman offered her cash on the spot.

Luckily grandma had her wits about her, because she politely declined, saying she'd completely forgotten it was there, and that she'd rather give it to her great grandson.

That would be MY boy, who jus started trap league this year in school.

Now, I can't begin to imagine what this shotgun is. I do know that my wife's grandpa wasn't cheap. In fact, he usually invested to get quality things. I also know that he pheasant and grouse hunted from time to time.

Given that, and the handyman's quick offer of cash for the gun, I can't help but think it's not some cheap-o Sears single shot. I bet it's a GOOD'un!

We're going down in a couple of weeks to visit. So what says you: What shotgun am I bringing home that's been hidden away in a closet for more than two decades??

My HOPE is it's a break action double barrel Beretta. My guess is it's a Remington Wingmaster.
