yay, to finally getting rid of mountain time, boo to isolating ND by getting rid of daylight savings. 7 months out of the year having Minnesota an hour ahead would be a pain in the ass with my job, and the sun rising when the clock reads 4am the months of June and July is just stupid.

NO... i lived in sidney mt for a bit... was dark by 4 in december... sucked... i'll take more light in the evening all year long...

And light out till 11 in the summer for those up in the NW corner of ND. If you divide the time zones equally, the line is supposed to be over by the Red River Valley. I'd rather they just do nothing.

IMO, at no point should the sun rise or set before a 5. Getting rid of dst will just cause problems. Delta's 5am flight, now becomes 4am. Instead of sneaking out of work an hour early to catch a twins game, or Monday/Thursday night football game, I'll now have to sneak out 2 hours earl. Instead of waking up at 6 to work in Moorhead at 7, I'll now be getting up at 5am. Tv gets time shifted twice per year.

And I also worked construction in the oil fields for 4 years, it sucked. Non local contractors wanted to recognize central time, mountain timers would always put up a fight. So anytime we worked on a mountain time schedule during the winter, we never saw the sun.

I think both changes are a century overdue. Having grown up on top of the time zone line and lived here and seen county by county finally making the change to central time over the years just do it and be done with it.

My memories of mountain time. 4pm sunsets in the winter and a glow on the eastern horizon at 330 in the morning. No thanks.

Having Fargo, Grand Forks, and Whapeton on different times zones than their sister cities right across the border for just part of the year would be a real mess.

Pacific time for the summer when it's hot. If you work outside go to work at coolest part of the day and avoid the blistering heat. Also gives more time to sneak out after work to fish

No daylight saving time would mean an hour less daylight after work from mid-March to the first Sunday in Nov., not just the summertime.

Been there/done that and it sucked. Could you imagine dealing with that only part of the year? (switching two times a year) Rearranging dropping the day care for the kids, getting them to and from school. Meeting with the people at the office across the river, various appointments, phone calls, dealing with the main office in the cities, airline flights, having to pick up a few things after work, and different bar closing times.

The problem with getting rid of dst, unless the rest of the country gets rid of it at the same time, it creates a huge mess. Just trying to figure out what time to call my parents in Arizona has always been a headache. Dividing a state into two time zones has always been dumb, but every state needs to agree to either get rid of dst, or do dst year round.

Williston is farther west than Dickinson, so really don't see the need for mountain time anywhere in the state. It was a dumb idea to have the Missouri river as the boundary for the time zones. It will be painful for the folks used to mountain time, but they are by far the minority. I think its past time to get the state all on the same time. As for DST, really doesn't matter to me, would be nice not to have to reset the clocks all the time, and not sure if DST saves on energy consumption or not, think that was a selling point for implementing it

Ah yes, I guess if streamlining, simplifying, cleaning up laws, eliminating laws, giving us some our rights back is not important then yes they are wasting time.
I see this as one of the best sessions in a long time finally rather than making new laws. Rick Becker is on a roll this year and others are following suit finally.

the people in Mountain time have voted at least twice to keep it like it is. That should be message to legislators to leave shit alone
