Tire Siping

Anyone had their Tires Siped? How did it turn out?

I have a set of 10Ply Yoko Geolanders with 65K on them that are still half tread. They're generally great but ice tractions leaves a bit to be desired. For a $100, Fargo tire can sipe all four tires, figured that might be the ticket to milk those baby's for two more winters.

Any input appreciated.

I've done it several times. I like the way they perform on slick and icy roads. Something to remember, siping can lead to a tire wearing faster. Especially if it is a lower durometer rubber. But low durometer is also better for traction. Give a little get a little.

We used to do this all the time to new tires. They didn't want to sipe used ones as it would wreck the blades they would say. Rocks, pebbles, or sand they said were hell on the blades. Don't know if they do used ones now or not.
We don't worry about it now being down here in Central AZ

Tide Pods was bad enough... now tires?

Gravel will tear the hell out of them if you do much on them, but work good on icey streets.

Grind them first. Then sipe.
