Shotgun sports are great fun, shot competitive trap 20+ years traveled several states for ATA trap shooting competition, lost interest when store bought ammunition prices shot up never had the time or ambition to reload like my squad mates, since I retired a few years ago I acquired my shotgun coaching/instructor permit and and instruct our local high school shooting class every spring when im back in town from long winters as a senior ski bum. It's rewarding working with our youth, the excitement and competitive element today its a spendy sport to be consistent if score matters but fun with friends to dust off the rust b4 hunting season. Recent years stepped away from trap shooting, sold my trap gun and took up sporting clays, enjoy the fast action not so serious like trap, our local clubs have sc walk thru courses shoot 100 rounds on a 2 mile course is great fun, thankfully my goto club rent golf carts which is a blessing for us old farts for our ammo and cooler of cold drinks on hot summer days, these courses are like playing golf with a shoutgun 5stand is good fast action practice as well.
Main thing is being safe and having fun.
Got hooked my 1st year long ago shooting league, drove into the gun club parking lot which was full of guyz off work, enjoying bbqing cold brews sitting on truck tailgates after the shoot and we never had a shooting mishap,I was hooked.
