So new to the forum and new to ND. So hello and awesome resource you guys have here.

Wife likes to go hit the water and do some fishing well holding the rod and catching :)
We went to devils lake Saturday figured we could do some trolling 10-15' of water pull in some decent pike with some x-raps. Was our first trip to DL. Launched at Graham. We drove all over the main lake area looking for a good place to troll and there is just stumps everywhere it is nerve racking. We managed to get a couple pike but we worked for them.

Thinking about going out tomorrow and doing some more poking around for a decent area to troll. Might launch at Haybay tomorrow check the east side of the lake. Or is that just as bad? Some insight would be great.

No expert here, but here's one place I found that is pretty clean.

Put in at Six Mile and head south ( towards Graham's Island) off of the west shore.

Snags are a part of fishing Devils.

Make sure you have a plug knocker with.

Are the six mile shorelines good to troll? Doesn't seem like that area would be as bad.

Both shorelines of the Grahams Island highway are clean enough and will hold pike.

Along any of the raised highways with rip rap should be clener. FWIW... i think you could stand to go shallower. If she likes to sit and fish, you could always try slip bobbers in some really shallow warm bay. Like 5ft.

If youre looking for pike, go to the pelican lake area and troll along areas where the wind is/has blown. In a few hours you will be sick of them. If trolling crank baits, take the front hook off and up the rear hook a size or two to reduce snags. Pike will be plentiful at 5-10ft. Jaw spreader is a must.

Update on the outing. We went out on Monday so a bit late sorry. Was pretty windy on Monday hit the wind beat shore lines around graham with nothing. Headed over to Pelican Lake tried shore lines over there for a bit with not much luck. On the way out of Pelican we trolled over a few humps in the middle of the lake and walla we found fish. Just about every hump in the lake was producing pike and eyes. We were pulling Flicker shads green/white was the ticket for us. Other colors did ok but Green/White produced way more strikes.

Planning on making my way out to Devils for the first time this year this weekend. We will probably be putting in at East Bay. Has anybody been out lately and having any luck?

Probably worth your time to trailer to the west end. I haven't heard much from the east end. The west end ALWAYS takes off earlier than the east end.

slip bobber's in and around the tree's and verticle jiggin produce well on devils, sometimes we get carried away with hooksets.

Another good approach is setting up on some structure, rock piles, underwater section lines, old road beds, cast jigs, slip bobber or vertcile jig.

I would head farther west . East end of lake is still cold and only bite that is good is about 9pm at the woods rutten road bridge and it'll be you and 87 other boats battling for water space it's a S show
