The University of Dakota is investigating two racially charged photos that were reportedly taken by students and posted online in a 48-hour period.

The president of the University, Mark Kennedy, said in a statement that he’s appalled at the messages that were posted to social media.

In one incident, three white students posted a photo to snapchat with the phrase “locked that black b**** out.”

Etonde Maloke, a student at the university, shared what happened on her Facebook page. Maloke said that her friend left her phone in a room and three students, pictured in the photo laughing and throwing up peace signs, took her friend’s phone and posted the picture, with the offensive caption, to her Snapchat without permission.

“I'm so livid!! We all know Racism is alive and well (whether you like to admit it not). When said acts of racism happen at your school, it is infuriating and heart breaking,” Maloke wrote. “My friend was not aware that they had done this and didn't even realize they had put this on her snapchat story until another friend of ours pointed it out. The University of North Dakota needs to take action against these students for this blatant act of racism.”

Less than 12 hours after Maloke published her post, another Snapchat image surfaced, apparently screengrabbed, of four white students donning black, facial masks with the caption, “Black lives matter.”

The campus police and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities are investigating both incidents. The university said they will work to explore the best practices for diversity education at the school.

“I have been disappointed to learn that we have people in our university community who don’t know that the kind of behavior and messaging demonstrated in these two photos is not ok, and that, in fact, it is inexcusable,” Kennedy said. “We value diversity and inclusion and take seriously respect for others as well as the exchange of different thoughts and ideas.”

Twitter users took the site to express their disapproval of the North Dakota student's actions.

I wonder what university of Dakota would think if the football team sat during our national anthem

Freedom of expression only goes one way, and white folks don't qualify

This PC crap is really getting carried away. One can't say or do anything without offending someone and hurting their poor little feelings. Gee whiz grow up and pull up your girly panties and worry about way more important things.
Back in the day this would have gotten a lot of laughs now most are worried they might hurt someone or someone's feelings.
Trouble is it only goes one way. Like the old saying if it is good for the goose it is good for the gander too!
Tit for tat i say.

It appears the minorities have tried to keep racism alive and well because it pays dividends over and over. It put a man in the oval office. One who votes for a man because they are black are just as racist as one who will not vote for a man because they are black. I remember the words to an old Simon and Garfunkle song called "Sounds of Silence". I don't remember them perfectly, but it's something like "evil grows in cracks and holes and lives in peoples minds". To me that evil racism is alive and well ------ in heart of the black community.

We are going to see quite a bit more of this kind of thing. You reap what you sow and actions have consequences and for months now these people have been sowing the seeds of hate and destruction. They are just now starting to reap the consequences of those actions and I don't think they will like them.

Normally I don't say much on here because I like to keep politics and religion out of friendships...and I don't like to bring race into anything but ill give my 2 cents on this. On one hand I'm like who gives a fuck, ignorant people doing ignorant things at inappropriate times.

On the other hand this picture mocks something that is close to me. BLM, like many other movements/organizations, have people that ruin what the actual purpose what was intended for to begin with. So many people now don't take BLM serious. I cant argue and wont argue with people on what its like being black in America. I was a honor roll student, stayed out of trouble, and served my country proudly for 16 years. But I was still "profiled" for fitting the description, treated poorly by cops for nothing, and still get funny looks on the lake LOL.
In all I don't give a shit about this picture but it does paint a picture on whats going on in America and what has been going on all along.

um dude - I've been treated poorly by the cops - even armed with my super duper white privilege.

Even cops have their douche 10%.

- - - Updated - - -

also - I suspect the girls were doing a facial and they posted to be "funny" not racists - just a guess

I get what they were trying to attempt, its just that blackface isn't funny. This stems back to when blackface was used on staged and in advertisements way back in early America, which were clearly racist.

Man do we spend way too much time defending assholes. If you act like an asshole don't whine and complain about being treated like one.
