Years back when leeches became to new gooder walleye live bait,as a youngster I watch my dad hooking up a leech with a pair of pliers holding the slimmy thing,he thought leeches were big blood suckers when they attached to his hand as he tried to bait his lindy rig.I was no better except i didn't use pliers i put the critter on my pant leg and when it attached it was kabob time

I've recently caught walleye on texas rigged creature baits while bass fishing. Switched to it to target walleye and had decent success.I eschew live bait whenever possible. It's messy, too much fiddlefucking around and I no longer have the stomach to use a "creature" as bait; nightcrawler/crawfish excluded: NO reason this wouldn't work on a Texas Rig or Mustad swim hook:
I have never tried toads, so I couldn’t say for sure, but as I understand the hibernation game, toads don’t hit the water like leopard frogs do. Maybe a moving presentation would trigger a bite???Will eyes eat toads to or will they get warts?
