Have any of you been in these areas of Canada? These forests are nasty and thick. They’ve been historically (at least in the time we’ve been alive) wet enough to not have much for fires until the last 10 years or so. There have certainly been big fires up there in the past but not of this frequency. The climate is getting warmer and drier and this is the effect. You can argue cause, but that’s the reality. Logging and forestry management is difficult if not impossible in these areas. The bogs and thickness make logging very difficult. And there are millions of acres. I don’t see this changing but only for the worse. There isn’t a solution, or at least a reasonable one.

The US isn’t any different. The fire that burned 100k acres on the east face of the WY Bighorns burned an area they’ve called the asbestos forest. It hadn’t had a significant fire in a very long time. The fuels just stayed wet enough that it never really burned. Things have changed. The smoke sucks but I think it’s here to stay.
Baha ha ha ha ha the climate is getting warmer baha ha ha ha ha ha.

Pine beetles have wiped out vast areas of forrest in our mountain states of the west. However liberals would rather watch the wood rot than let the lumber companies they hate harvest dead timber. They live in homes built of wood while hating lumber companies, and are comfortable in those wood homes with heat and air conditioning provided with power from the power companies they hate. Many live off the taxes of the successful Americans that they also hate, or the charity of the Christian churches that they also hate. The tolerant left ---- ya right.

Mother nature has a solution. Burn Baby burn! Might not be popular with us humans but it will solve the problem!

Was coming up the Hwy south of Valley City. Could only see vehicles coming at you from about a 1/2 mile away and that's with lights on.

The worst part of the post is he never once mentioned the reason why those millions of acres are dead, I wonder why that is, There are more acres of trees especially in the United states then there were a hundred years ago, And with that said we will continue to see forest fires happen more frequently because with today's modern building practices webdont use as much wood as houses built using planks instead of engineered lumber like plywood.

My educmicated guess here tells that this drought was close to a decade and I remember this time very well, farmers were combining grain at the end of July, there were cracks in the ground that were over an inch wide. Climate change that the liberals try to push is not a global problem its a regional problem 🙄

I dont think dead trees killed by these beetles would make very good lumber since the larvae consumes the wood. The government needs to find away to either use pesticides or remove healthy trees that have not been effected by this evasive species brought here from east asia. The beetle will consume just about every type of tree in north America especially maple.
Regarding pine beetles in my area of summit county Colorado our state/county started preemptive stike on pine tree stands infected and surrounding fir trees by cutting large swaths of the fir tree stands then trail crews trimmed downed trees,sprayed/doused piles of these pine tree logs with pesticides then sealed these piles of logs with poly air tight this effort saved 1000's of acres of pine trees further pine wood is apparently to soft to build with.

Argue all you want but things have changed. That’s why people bitch about it never being like this in the past. These areas in Canada didn’t burn like they are now some 50 years ago.

These Canadian fires are man made these days, young natives want to get off the reserves so they burn them down. And get a new resettlement home in Winnipeg..

There is a huge market for it . My father in law finished his whole basement in beetle kill and it looks great.
Don’t they call it something like blue pine for its characteristic tint ? i know it’s expensive
