Question for you guys in western ND. I'm wondering what the approximate time frame would be to do a little rockhounding along the yellowstone this spring with low water level or is it already to late ?

Yellowstone in Sidney is currently at flood stage, gonna be awhile before the sand bars are dried up

Thank you for that information , looks like a late summer adventure . Different climate for sure, vehicles are still driving on 30'' of ice up here.

If I ever hear a rock hit the bucket of a loader tractor EVER again, it will be too soon. Picked enough rocks when I was a kid to affect the hearing of my great grand kids. Good luck my man. Hope you find a T-rex tooth or something just as cool.

Haha , Same here , with a 65 massey Ferguson in 1st gear and low range , jump off and walk ahead and fill the bucket . I should have been paying more attention to what I was throwing away .

That's her choice not yours or mine. She shares a wealth of information and that's all I was looking for.

The stretch of the yellowstone in nd does not have rock beds it's silted in or is sand.just letting us know it's real sandy so mt up stream may have more rock exposed.
