I will be in Bismarck for business in the next couple of weeks and plan on bringing my boat to do a little fishing at the same time. Is there any motel/hotel that would have a better secure area than others?

THX for the help!

I cant say any are gated. The Kelley Inn had quite a LE presence the last few months.

There is no way in hell I would leave a boat at a hotel parking lot in Bismarck!
I'm sure someone here probably has a garage they would let you put it in for little or nothing "beer" hint hint.
If I lived close you could put it in mine I know that, what comes around goes around. Someone will help you out I bet!

The only thing i can say is that the south side of town tends to have more theft than the north side. Having said that crap can happen everywhere. Maybe try something tucked away like Staybridge Suites. I still wouldn't leave electronics or rods/tackle that isn't in a locked compartment even in my own driveway.

Budget Inn Express would be my suggestion. It's economical and a great downtown location near restaurants and bars. You could conveniently park your boat between any number of the junked out abandon cars in the parking lot. It's nice and secure due to the 10-20 crackheads that are wandering the parking lot at all hours of the night. If a little mold and dirt don't bother you that would be my recommendation.

One thing I have done in the past is call the local PD/Sheriff's office, ask to speak with the Sgt or Captain on duty. Tell them your story and see if they would mind if you parked your rig in their lot overnight. Typically the offices aren't open until 0800 and most guys would have their rig out of there lot by 5 or 6 so they generally don't mind.

I don't have anyplace where you could park it other than in my driveway and you are certainly welcome to that if you want.
Let me know a couple of days ahead of time if you want to park it here.

Thats a gem. Much like the flying j in Fargo used to be. The Air Force put us up there for a few days. I felt lucky to have not caught bed bugs. One night a hooker was roaming the halls and puking on the walls, that was cool

Your avatar reminds me of a funny story of this same Motel. I used to skateboard a lot in my younger days and there are a bunch of good skate spots right near this place. Years ago (late 90's) we were out skating around 2 in the morning and my buddy was standing right in front of this motel and he yells at me to come over to him. I get over there and he points in the big front office window and this Sikh/Indian guy with this big ass mustache and turban has this chick bent over behind the front desk and he is just going to town on her. It was straight out of a porno...one of the funniest things I've ever seen my whole life .

Not sure about if there is a safe boat area, but if a good happy hour is important to you...the Comfort Inn is where you want to stay.:;:cheers

Uff, Happy Hour at the Comfort Inn, has generated more than one liver transplant, I'd wager...
