maybe people in MN should stop electing Idiots and appointing ass wipe judges this shit wont happen wake up MN
Curious what you folks in north dakota would think of gill netting/spearing walleyes on devils lake?

This practice here in Mn has put our #1 walleye lake in a tail spin, started in 1999,the 8 tribes that par take in harvesting walleyes during spawn put our lake into total collasps 5years ago,so much so our walleye season is catch and release only for non-native sportsmen/women.

We deal with this issue every year since 1999,to make things worse every spring we find these ghost netts full of dead rotting walleyes the natives lost to moving ice flow, and yeah they put the netts out before complete ice out,sad deal.

I know gill netting by the natives elsewhere in our country has many folks concerned around the country, mostly the western states.

I ain't sure what rez those rape numbers come from or how dated they are. But, they aren't consistent with the current situation on reservations in ND at all. Especially regarding the ethnicity of the assailant. There is an abnormally high rate of sexual assault on reservations. And an abnormally high % get unreported and unprosecuted. But, the non native assailant is quite a rarity in this neck of the woods. By the way... in those cases, the feds have jurisdiction if the offense is on the reservation. And some of the best investigators (fbi) and prosecutors (us attorneys) end up handling them. So, they aren't unprosecutable. Just unprosecutable in tribal court.

Sounds like Wind River Wyoming stats. Not a bad movie, btw.

And to think some folks point the finger elswhere, like zebs, water flea's etc,OR worse yet read a few documents and have the answer's.This is reality folks and what caused the fall of mille lacs and could be coming your way, after all back in the mid 80's when this BS started in wisc we thought thought it could happen in Mn but here we are.

MN needs to quit stocking it and if they want to over fish the lake then they can pay to stock it. Let them mismanage it and go bankrupt after bad fishing seasons.
Exactly my thought, if the MN outdoorsman can not use this to the same benefit as everyone. Then the DNR should not be managing the resource.

MnDNR should just stop enforcing any game laws on the lakes that are being netted. Just let it be a free for all for everybody until some reasonable agreement is made. The resorts would probably be hopping for a few years.
