Pre-spawn walleye on Wisconsin’s Green Bay. Jason Mitchell joins guide Bret Alexander in early April out of Oconto. Several Green Bay tributaries like the Fox, Oconto and Peshtigo all offer tremendous walleye fishing opportunities. These fish migrate into these rivers to spawn and stage in front of these rivers each spring.

We share some valuable information on how to use side imaging to find these fish and how to recognize water temperature and water color that dictates where these fish will be.

In this video, we battled some extremely strong winds and a brutal cold front with surface temperatures that were below forty degrees. Casting hair jigs caught most of the fish for us. We break down why hair jigs like the Northland Deep V Hair Jig are so deadly for catching walleye in cold water. We also break down a modification tip of adding a stinger hook.
