First winter I have been laid off for about eight years. Was looking forward to a lot of hunting this winter. Hasn't been great for that but it is nice not having to worry about going somewhere. Just wish the pay was better. Lol

We have a little water in the basement. Power is out in part of Jamestown. The ambulance had a hard time making it to my son's house in Bismarck. He has spent more time in the hospital than home the last year and a half. Back on a machine breathing for him and we can't get there for his wife and children. Remember him in your prayers tonight.

It just kicked up another notch in Bismarck. Heavy snow and gusts have to be 40-50, almost no visability. Time to dive into the scotch, I don't think anybody is moving tomorrow.
Well she just went up another notch further at least on the south end. lowest visability I'v seeing all day in town and now is a down below 200 yards at times. Also just had the sky light up immediately followed by muffled thunder so either we just had thundersnow or a small plane crashed....so its one of the two! I don't know why it's fun because it's sorta like watching paint dry but I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the snow drift grow taller than my neighbor's car! man can you imagine what would have happened if we'd had this Beast for two or three days instead of 18 hours!

Ya it's crazy out there it was coming down pretty good and then it just kicked in to overdrive I can't believe how hard it is snowing. I just watched a car try and drive down the hill on 18th st a few blocks south from Divide they were plowing through but the snow was up to the damn windshield there is no way they could have seen anything. I'm guessing they either got stuck or nailed a parked car on there way down the hill.

Remember when Sak dried up and the smelt died off?

Still getting a bit of snow in Minot.

Round gobies eat zebra mussels, spawn over open, deep water and can withstand this BS weather. The Ringneck Pheasant and Hungarian Partridge are invasive species. Look ahead and adapt.

Climate works in cycle's Albert, Al, AlGore Jr. I barely got a HS Diploma. There may have been some subterfuge with the math.

Minot is still getting piss pounded.

Had to push snow with the door to let the dog out to take a piss. She wasn't happy about it. I'm going to move snow in the morning, clean the garage up, clean out the vehicles and pour some jigs.

Prayers to you and family. I say this a lot. It's the best I can say. I will pray for your son. I don't say this in vain.

Thank you all for the prayers. That is not a small thing. Also thanks for the kind offers for help from people I have never met.
Our son is doing better on the ventilator. He is on antibiotics and a medicine to lower his potassium. He has not beat the fungal pneumonia yet and it looks like he has viral pneumonia also now. He will get dialysis tonight or early morning. Thanks again for the kindness of payers.

I'll keep your son, his wife and their kids in my prayers.

Is there anything else "we" can do to help out?

Well I can no longer see the house across the street much of the time so we're making some big drifts now!

just got back from pulling my neighbor out, he missed a corner at the highway in the snow and nosed right into the ditch just outside of town.

in the protected areas in town foot to foot and a half of snow, just past the houses and trees two to three foot drifts,

it took maybe 10 minutes to get him out and my tracks were drifted shut and could not tell where I had driven until I got back into the protected areas.

I verified that I do need 5 or 6 sandbags in the back of the pickup and will get them next time I get to town lol hit the end of the tow strap and spun out every time.

I don't think I am going to work in the morning with the way it is blowing at least until the state clears a path on the highway.

Not really, but the kindness of prayers is greatly appreciated.
If you see the time on my post and wonder what I am doing up so early I had to move a vehicle out front. All the ice brought down pine branches on top of it. Now the wind is coming up and the ice coming off the trees sounds like hail on the house. I'm going to try catch another hour in the lazyboy. Night.
