Imagine you are a snow plow driver and you are plowing the road below and you come from the "wrong" direction.

See anything?

Look closer, under the red arrow is an antenna :)

Yes, just north of the intersection of 3rd street and wachter. East side of road.

That'd be a nice little surprise. Went to the office today and was impressed with the roadways. Last storm, State street southbound was missing a lane as it merged to the west, just south of the capital. People tried to beat you around the curve which caused issues almost daily for me. Ninth and seventh will need some work.

I know we had snow blowers were up on state Street today, I don't know how much they got done.
And we got started on residential today. It seems like more snow now then when we got the 18 inches. We never had motor graders out last night because they kept getting stuck. the Loader plows have to do the curb first to get it to the curb then we can split the middle and get that to the curb. Probably going 24 hours for another 3 or 4 weeks again.
I can't remember the last time we hired private contractors to clean streets for us. Northern Improvement and Weisz are working with us.
Thanks for the heads up Sluggo will pass that info on.

Yeah with the snow so deep everywhere else it makes the open valleys between the piles on driveways and streets the perfect place for the wind to drop it. If we were to get a big storm now the city would be shut down the better part of a week! Not sure I'm routing for another one but it definitely would be interesting to see how it would go. On a good note I did see 40 or so pheasants out of 48th today so at least they made it ok.

This is precisely why I won't buy a white vehicle. They disappear too easily in winter.

I was thinking the same. I wonder how accurate their measuring is when the snow is swirling and coming sideways. I see Minot had 22 inches to our 12.5 in Bismarck. I can't imagine what it would look like around here if we had gotten nearly twice as much.

Weather guys are talking the possibility of another big storm starting Sunday. That could really suck.

That one goes back and forth and I've yet to see any big snow perditions even in its current main track which it right through the middle of SD. Think bis was at 1.5 or 3.5 depending on what model you used going out 10 days. Needless to say to far to be accurate but it's where they are at now.

Hey, Radar-It sounds like you are a plow driver in Bismarck. If so, then you guys are doing a great job. Not that it will matter, but i'm calling the city tomorrow to commend the job the plow drivers did doing my avenue in Bismarck. The loader operator was great, manually clearing every driveway he could. I gave him an ovation as he went past. Thanks for the good job you do during such a busy snow event.

Be thankful our taxes are so high here and the residential streets even get looked at. I lived in Wyo and they do major routes only and do not ever remov snow from residential streets, if one is lucky they come in and blade the potholes to smooth them out on ocassion. Residents are on their own to do what they please on their own residential streets, want it cleared? They have to hire it done or do it themselves.

Can't say enough about how the snow crews are doing. Used to do this and it sure can be a cluster at times especially with parked cars and dealing with traffic. Hats off to all the city, county, and state workers. Don't want to forget the private ones also.
Hauling this stuff out is going to take a long while and then finding places to put it will be challenging too.

Do not leave cars parked on the street. Can't say it enough. Not only are they prone to getting hit by plows, or anyone else on the road, but when the plows have to go around them, it leaves a huge mess once the owner finally gets around to moving the vehicle.

The fines for leaving vehicles on the street can't be high enough.

Ain't that the truth. I lived in Green River and by sheer luck the house I bought was on the road to the water treatment plant and sewer plant. So it was always one of the first plowed streets.

I do appreciate the work the snow plow drivers are doing. However, I don't know where they are. I've seen the emergency streets get plowed but have not seen one plow on regular streets in Bismarck almost two days after the storm. Just wondering where they are. Anybody in Bismarck have their regular streets plowed yet?
