Just for the pure entertainment, the ref should have let him knock him down. This fight was hyped to the max and they end it like that? Mayweather sat there and sized him up in the early rounds. It was then and there that Mcgregor was in trouble not just in the late rounds. Very surprised it went 10 rounds. Looked like Mcgregor was having a hard time breaking some ufc hammer punch habbits tho.

another reason boxing is dead are the judges, how do you throw a total of 28 punches and 6 jabs in 3 rounds and win two of the three rounds on two of the judges cards?
fight.jpg

And that is why boxing is dead. It wasn't a knock out it was the ref stepping in. Conor was tired and more likely than not going to get knocked out but the ref can't stop that. Ref had way to much to do with out come of fight. Conor had Floyd hurt with a body shot ref steps in and saves Floyd.

Now lets see if a boxer has the balls to step in the octagon

Yeah, it's dead. It just generated over a billion in dollars changing hands.

I'm just going to leave this right here.

Mayweather gave Connor a three round head start, he was doing whatever he wanted and to some it make it look like he was losing. If that would have continued McGregor would have woke up with a southern accent sounding like Evander Holyfield. He has no reason to go back to Dana White's circus to fight for pennies. From the looks of it he would be perfect to play a boxer from the 1920s, get the man a script and sign him up. I thought it was entertaining and worth watching.

Millions of people are out a couple hundred bucks and have worse headaches this morning than either of those two. Ref shoulda stayed out of it, woulda been nice to see somebody get tipped over and 10 counted

Can't believe people bet on Conner SMH. I won $100, and didn't buy it or watch it. Had to risk $650, but was it really a risk? Should've added a 0 to my bet but losing 6.5k would've been tuck a huge chuck out of my boat fund. Vegas was giving out free money yet the public lost millions, people are so dumb.

That's the thing he will he is a fighter and likes fighting. In the post fight interview he said he was in a match not a fight. Conor is not a bitch like him or hate him he has the heart of a lion and will be back to defend the 155 strap. I watched all the under cards last night and they were all championship fights and the stands we're half full for good reason there was paint drying some where to watch.

People might not like Dana but listen to him on the team never quit pod cast with Marcus lattrel and you understand him.

I think when people say boxing is dead they are talking about overall popularity. BTW without searching who is the HWT champ right now? It used to be everyone on the planet knew and watched boxing. It was the best show in town. Wrestlers knew that in a brawl, who would win, but people laughed at them. I remember when the UFC first came out. It was a tournament with now weight classes and very few rules. JuJitSu and wrestlers dominated, and still do. It truly has evolved and to be successful in MMA now, you better have some skills in all areas. But now MMA is by far the more popular sport. Boxing is dead in that people watch MMA much more than they do boxing. Shorter more action filled fights, and it's more like a real fight. Yeah, there are some big PPV and some huge paydays left for boxers, but not as many as there once was.

Boxing just got revived. Connor will go on to box again with a much bigger ticket than Dana White will give and others will follow.

You got some good numbers....easy $$$. Like I said, Vegas was giving away $$. I heard people were putting up "bridge jumping off " numbers to cash out on Mayweather. Real tempted to put up 1K or even $500, but paying out 6.5K or 3.25K......didn't have the balls, and I knew it was a sure thing.

I think we like to judge popularity based on our region. Ask most of us and we think the NBA is small time these days and and boxing is dead or dying while hockey is a big deal. Elsewhere in he country and planet it's quite the opposite. There is no one in the UFC that is even half as popular as Canelo. At the same time most people we probably associate with have no clue who he is. Boxing is gigantic compared to the UFC. I wish they could get their shit together instead of allowing so many champs in the same weight class without them having to fight each other.

There is something to be said for locality, but.......I have DirectTV....and the amount of MMA on vs boxing isn't even close. These are all national coverage channels. The amount of fans watching, and new fighters choosing MMA, has increased over the last 20 years in staggering numbers. Little mma companies popping up all over the country. One sport is charging ahead and the other is in decline, big time.

He might but Conor has already said he is looking forward to fighting again. The boxing match was cute and fun but he wants a fight were his words. UFC has him under contract so there's that also.

Who is canelo. Hockey was never really a big deal here the NBA has always been and is bigger down here . I am glad I started watching hockey it is way better than today's NBA. I bet Conor is as reckonized as any boxer

I enjoy both sports, but boxing will not die as not everybody that fights wants to learn an arm bar.
