160,000 Salmon escape

The company also initially said that unusually strong currents, triggered by the moon during the solar eclipse, had caused the pen to break open.

Wrong. These accidents are normally caused by two things, stupidity and greed. Mix the two and you have a recipe for disaster.

I heard that the govt spent $4.19 billion (plus $98 dollars left over from the duck penis study) on a joint study with the Sierra Club to find out and global warming from cow farts caused the snow to melt in the mountains causing the ocean to rise and the high water broke the mooring loose on the pen.

The point here is some "foreign species" do more damage than others. Can you share what red stag/elk crosses and hybrid salmon will do in comparison to Asian Carp in destroying ecosystems and pushing native species out of existence?

I thought people would have gotten that point in the comparison but I guess there is one "idiot" that is more concerned about jumping on people than taking a moment to think.

Stop and think for a moment how many non native species between plants and animals and other things have been "introduced" in this country.

I have pastures full of them. There are fields and orchards full of them. Some pushed native species out and some have not. Some claim they are "destroying eco systems" as well in a push to return us to native prairie and buffalo roaming the commons.

How many have been beneficial to us and how many have not.

The coulee was dug up and had a concrete spillway put in a few years ago to stop just such a release from ripping the plug out.

Atlantic Salmon are not native to Patagonia Chile. But they are pen raised by the hundreds of thousands. Cold water flows down from the Andes into fjords, an excellent site for floating pens. Norwegian investors started the industry in Chile and found a ready consumer in the United States selling it for about $4.84 per pound. It would cost more then that to send a fish home snail mail. How did they do it? Walmart.

PrairieGhost wants to buy cheaper milk from Minnesota, cheaper grain from Canada, doesn't like ranchers and says this salmon faming accident in Washington State is a mix of stupidity and greed. Attention Walmart shoppers, we have falling prices on cheap outsourced out of State out of country food.

Now you hurt my feel goods. Some body I have never met on the internet claims to know what my neighbors think becasue he coyote hunts up here. I am pretty comfortable with my neighbors around here. It is funny how people that do not like someone come to their brandings and help, help move and work cows, show up for birthday celebrations, help combine and hay and work together with that person to build great community facilities and events......when they are not liked in their neck of the woods......

Stop in next time you are driving by, who knows maybe by the time you leave you might see what my neighbors that actually know me do.

Oh to your question, can;t recall having a dream about plainsman or these outdoor sites so the answer would be no. Wake up plenty anymore at night........but so far the undies are still dry by the time I get to the pisser.

Besides I got a notice the other morning I have over 400 and some friends on FB most of my neighbors included so stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Say that reminds me of a story about three old fellas in the nursing home bitchin about gettin old.
