haha I was just running numbers on mine was thinking of adding a kicker or possibly get 5575 112-36v Trolling motor as I currently pull cranks with my 80lb and it last as long as I have needed it but run her pretty low with the brood on board. then I got to thinking hell if im spending that money might as well get 2 more feet of glass under me.

In all reality, I really do like my 1880. Great boat for the river and still can handle bigger waves on Sak, albeit, slower than the big boys.

what does your top out at?

keep in mind I had a POS before my new Larson and I had the wife and I only, glass water water calm as could be and she hit 40.3 and I had never ridden that fast in a boat before. after 2 summers im use to it now obviously and wished it went faster but at the time I was like dam 40mph that's moving haha

40.3 per my helix gps so you guys would know if that accurate or not think the speedometer had it at 43ish

52.2 down stream by the grant marsh bridge. Had my brother and the wayward Wags in my boat at the time. On the lake, consistently 48-49 at WOT.

I'm sure thunderstorms wouldn't be the only thing you would be beating off if you bought a ranger...

It is a very nice boat and set up perfect for most situations that's for sure.
And ya gotta love those gray motors on the back. Some seat bases with some suspension would help a bunch, those rods in my lower back would greatly benefit from those alone.

But when you go from a 20 something footer back to and 18-19 you know you would never ever go back. Can't believe I ran those 1880s as long as I did, oh to be younger again! ha ha

And the only thing better than a 20 something boat, is a a 21 something boat, lol. My 186 Yar-Craft is also on the market! (Sorry Dirtymike, cheap sales plug). There’s just no replacement for 3+ more feet of length! Well kind of because for every foot the price appears to be exponentially higher, lol
