What do you guys have have for solar power systems for a permanent ? My head hurts when I see 400 watt systems anywhere from $ 35 to $ 2700. I'd like a 12 volt system to run camera , tv and diesel heater. For now I have a couple 12V -110 converters and I'm ok to run gen or bring batteries to shore at night once in a while when needed but looking for the biggest bang for my buck.

With the lack of sunlight in the winter here your best bang for your buck would be a 100+ amp hour lithium battery. Get one with the built in heater and run your generator occasionally to charge it back up.

My solar landscape lights would only hold enough juice for about 2.5-3 hrs with these short days. Not sure on panels for house to keep battery charged. See them on a few houses though, maybe more for the summertime camping with the ones on the castles.

I knew a guy that took a generator off a old truck. Put a fan on it and mounted it to his fishhouse. His batteries were always were charged up.
