After this Olympics Canada has a lot of egg on their faces. Between their whining hockey coaches and players and their cheating and fowl mouthed curling team they need to go back to Canada and clean the syrup outta their panties!
It's bred right into them and the way they grew up , it happens all the way down to pee-wee hockey and at the same level of intensity .

Everyone went knowing the rules but 3 on 3 for a game of that stature is pretty bad
Agreed. I’m glad the USA won. They should play at least one more complete period that is sudden death. If it’s still tied, then go 3 on 3.

Ya I agree, at least a half a period of regular 5 on 5 no sudden death. IMO both hockey and soccer need more scoring. Bigger goals or something.

I don't disagree. I was very surprised to see the 3x3 play. I also do believe that format is all about TV time and keeping TV time on schedule.

I kind of enjoy the 3x3 during the regular NHL season. Lots of open ice, the time and space allows players to be very creative, it entertains me anyway. I also enjoy the grind of unlimited overtime and 7-game series' during the playoffs. If they'd asked me, there wouldn't have been a 3x3 component to a Gold Medal Winter Olympics.

It was still an amazing game and I'm still very proud of both of our hockey teams for their focus and determination to bring home Gold.

Regardless of how they determine what happens in OT, the loser will cry about it. It's the same for both sides so however they do it it's fair.

There are some sports that OT is NOT fair and a lot rides on the coin toss.

Didn't hear Canada complain about overtime rules when they survived one of the biggest upset bids in any sport of the Milan Cortina Olympics by defeating Czechia 4-3 in overtime.

If the "best" team cant get it done in three periods of 5x5 we don't need to see another period of it. At some point the game has to end and there will be a winner and loser. Everyone griped about shoot outs so they go with 3x3 now. Canada had the advantage in the 3x3 with guys like Mcdavid, Mackinnon, Makar, Celebrini and yet they kept trying to go hero mode and go 1 on 3 to the goal and kept losing possession and ultimately giving us better chances to score. Not sure what any of the three Canuks were doing on that final play.

There's a lot of OT rules in a bunch of different sports I don't like.

I agree i like it during the regular season but i like the 5v5 once play off starts. get a 2 for 1 deal some nights when it goes multiple periods and the excitement just keeps building

Lincoln, kinda...

Not really.

"All the teams know the rules going into these beforehand. So you can't come up here and say we're the losing team because we lost in a 3-on-3 and that's not fair," Cooper said. "We knew the rules coming in. We won a game in this tournament 3-on-3, so that's not the way it is."

It just sounds to me like he doesn't like the OT rules. Kind of like some of our fellow NDA members.
