If it totally took over the breaking system - then imo no setting would be needed correct? Jacob Wheeler is using what a kast king $100 reel. I do not have very many birds nest where you have to throw the rod down and pickup another. Tell me what i am missing?

To guy the bantams is what i loved. Trying to mimic roland and Jimmy. I had a millionare never had a abu though. I bank ratted the mo with those old shakespere bait casters with black nylon line with a bell weight and 30 lbs kmart mono leader (it reminds me of that thick flouro we use now). Pull in a tree 20 foot long.

Sioux sporting goods --- i still have a can of gun powder last time i used it it was still hot as ever.
Longer casts with much less effort. cast lighter baits. Cast into the wind without backlashes. It’s just a much better functioning reel IMO. I own quite a few baitcasters and certainly wouldn’t consider myself a pro by any means but I still get backlashes with those reels. Most are curados and chronarchs. I still see pros get backlashes on occasion. All I’m saying is it’s the smoothest baitcaster I have ever used. Casts better and further with less effort and less backlashing. Definitely further casts. To me it’s worth the extra money. To others it may not be. I guess it depends on how much you fish. For guys that fish a ton it’s nice having good equipment. If you break out the ole baitcaster a couple times a year it’s probably not worth spending the money. It’s like anything you usually pay a little extra for better quality.

DC= Beginners I free spool 99.9 of the time probably not going to be impressed and worried about breaking when not needed. why is always i am better than you answer. I asked a simple question with no reply on the control.

Chatgbt please help me:

Straight answer (no fluff)

👉 Quantum Smoke will cast farther in true freespool conditions.

Why (mechanically)

  • The Curado DChas:
    • a heavier spool
    • digital braking system (even on low settings it’s still managing spool speed)
    • more internal resistance overall
  • The Quantum Smoke:
    • simpler system
    • less parasitic drag
    • spins up faster and longer

👉 In pure freespool, less control = more distance potential

"Loose is fast and on the edge of out of control." Harry Hogg.

In other news, bearing quality, bearing tolerance and lubrication matched to each-other, construction minimizing actual bearing surface contact while maximizing/maintaining system alignment, have as much or more to say about casting distance as does the braking and rotating mass.
