So AI basically scans the internet for answers. Who put the stuff on the internet? Us…..the idiots…..we did it. Also can you guarantee the developers didn’t program in some of their own biases or agendas?

Im sure searching google isn’t much better, but it seems to be a slower path to the end. Whatever “the end” will be.
And it uses Wikipedia which can be very bad

Boy the more you find out about these AI data centers the more concerning it gets. It's very hard to believe that there isn't something about the background of these that we aren't being told. There is now 1 being built in Texas that will consume more electricity that the whole state of Colorado. And will use over 1 billion gallons of water. The decibel rate near it will be from 90 to 120 decibels. Larry Fink of Blackrock said in an interview that Blackrock will own or control the vast majority of the centers cause the govt can't afford to fund them. And the US will have over 3000 of these. Maybe there has an I just havn't seen it but even with overwhelming public support against these I don't think I have ever seen a case where the public was ever able to get one of these projects stopped. The public can show up in mass at public hearings against them and always the local county commissioners magically vote to approve. Our national energy grid is already stretched to the max with occasional brownouts in certain parts of the US when there are disruptions of any kind. Before anyone even heard of a data center we were told the grid wouldn't be able to handle all the coming load from all the electric cars that will be coming. Watched a video on X from a lady telling her experiences with their family home in the way of a center. In her state they are just using eminent domain to get all the people and property off the proposed land. X is the only place she is allowed to talk about this yet she has posted videos of what her family is dealing with on tik tock and other sites and the videos are being taken down and her accounts closed out on them. And I have never heard anyone talk about how the massive heat dumps coming out of them might affect the local weather or environment. If they are so great why the need for the heavy handed censorship around talking about them? I just really can't envision a scenario where this ends well for us. And if blackrock ends up controlling them and power grid supplies end up tight if its a choice between a data center or a city of 100000 which one do you think will end up getting the power diverted their way?

Thanks for the input, I will have to look into this more, as some of this I was unaware.

Also Larry Fink in the same interview says he would like to have people opposed to the centers branded domestic terrorists. I also just found out that after all the billions spent to build them their life spans are supposed to be 3 to 4 years and they will have to be built again.

I also feel like given the overwhelming lack of public support for these things that if Trump allows this all to still happen, or God forbid is behind the push for building them that this will be the biggest cause of people not supporting him more so than any gas prices, Iran war or tariffs.

It'll be interesting to see if China lets him peek at some of thier recent technology when he's there, I think they will just to humble him a bit. He will come home plump full of ideas if they do.

sounds like the govt might take control or place significant restrictions on the AI the public will have access to, I dont like that idea at all. Also seems like companies might start leaning towards keeping their powerful AI models to themselves and just sell the results of AI to other companies/govts/public instead of actually giving open access to use them ourselves... Thats significantly more scary to me than having public access to these tools.

NV energy a utility company that supplied Lake Tahoe with electricity just told 50000 residents that they have 1 year to find an alternative energy source because they are going to divert all that power to a data center.

Wow, I had to check that out , PSC and the state must be part of this movement. Deep pockets everywhere, and gov. overreach, all we are is a number anymore. Hopefully it can be reversed in court and make them find an alternative source of energy.

With 50000 civil law suits against NV Energy. The lawyers/Attorney will add up if they would suing NV Energy individually. And a class action law suit with all of them together. I can't see a judge allowing this to happen to the residents.
