Really cool to see bears in ND.
Tell that to my buddies brother that had one walking around on his deck one night, he got a neat video on his security camera. Knocked over and dug through the trash and also knocked over and dug through the neighbors dumpster. This was about 1 week ago 2mi west of Leonard.
This was 2-3mi west of Leonard about a week ago. Granted in that general area and where I live I have been saying for 10+ years that we more than likely have a couple area resident bears that wonder around.

We have them around our lake place and they do get into things once in a while. Bears being bears....

Back in the early 2000's I worked for a bee keeper and he had bee yards around Buffalo and Page ND. Every once in a while you would have one that got hit by a bear. That country doesn't exactly scream bear country to me but it would happen from time to time. I think I can recall 2 times in the 5 full time summers I worked for them. Realistically there isn't any reason not to have a few bears between Leonard and McCloud with the Sheyenne River and the Grasslands

Lived in SE Alaska for a few years a lifetime ago, a brown would come into town a few times and knock over our garbage can almost weakly. It was a 4' diameter can with 1" diameter anchor chain around the bottom. They would knock it over like nothing. We had a neighbor lose a dog and puppies from a big brown. It ripped the door off of their shed and ate them all. There would be a few every year shot in town that were menaces. When black bears show up now, they are like large racoons.

Im assuming like elk, moose, bear and perhaps feral hogs will be more abundant here in the states because of all the fires up north.

We are one of the biggest honey producers in the nation. More pollinators means better crops and gardens. Yogi and boo-boo can stay the hell in minnesota and montana
