Now we have a foot of heavy "heart attack" snow and are back to completely white after days of 50's and 60's. I give up. Time for a drink. Stay safe out there fellas.
Sure as hell wish I wouldn't have taken my blower off the mower. Totally sucked with the walk behind in that sticky shit. Couple beers this afternoon tasted darn good.

A pretty solid 8+ at my place on surfaces not sitting on the ground. And as noted, it's of the heart attack version in how much water it contains.

This will squelch wildfire concerns out west for at least a week, and encourage some greening of the countryside. I am convinced there will not be significant runoff from it, other than from city streets, so it's all going to end up in the ground. Which is good for kurtr, as that's the water that will show up in the wetlands over the course of the summer.

I'm confused, I was thinking just the opposite.

ya we had 10 ish and its all gone now just soaked right into the ground. Now for some good spring rains to fill some stuff up would be nice.

Since our vegetation is still largely dormant, most of that which soaked into the ground will end up reaching the groundwater table. Eventually, this is the water that flows through the soil and daylights again into a local prairie pothole. It is a much slower process than heavy rains that produce direct runoff in the summer, but little in the way of groundwater recharge.

Had .40 of rain and more wind during the day than during the storm just N of Mandan but sounds like a lot of areas were not as lucky. Some nasty reports and pics coming in from around the state. Hope everyone can dig out ok.

98-103mph recorded winds in the Garrison area. There is about a 25mi wide path of destruction from it stretching from White Shield area to east of Garrison and north to Douglas and Max etc. Ain't ever seen anything like the mess our community has today.
