I've been seeing a lot on these surveillance cameras lately. One women was charged with stealing packages and was totally innocent. (Hope this can stay out of politics forum)

It's what their doing with that data that's concerning. Also, can we use the Freedom Of Information Act to request footage like we can with all other government records and recordings?

Flock cameras operate on a guilty until proven innocent type of framework. The system says you're guilty and they send the bill. That in and of itself should tell you all you need to know. Carry On!

That describes the experience of the woman who was falsely accused of being a porch pirate to a "T". She had to collect Ring footage from her neighbor and her own dashcam to prove her innocence.

One of the most glaring shortfalls of these flock cameras is this question. "Where is the witness?" When a cop pulls you over, he/she is the witness to your transgression. With a camera, there is no witness that can testify. Legally, very hard to overcome if one wants to challenge. However, if people don't challenge the system and just pay, it will only get worse IMO.

You have to act like you’re on camera 24-7 because you probably are. Especially in the city.

You are not safe outside the city either. At all!!

And all new vehicles in 2027 will be recording everything inside it. Now we can see why all the data centers are needed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but these Flock cameras are not used to issue speeding tickets or citations for running red lights, etc. They only read license plate numbers. What's the problem with that?
