I think it's considered an invasive species in parts of Alaska also.

In most of the west walleyes are the same way to. Any thing that will eat mountain carp (trout) they don’t want. I think on cascade in Idaho my brother said you get 100 dollars for every walleye you catch.

Interesting….. hard to believe people would rather catch and eat a trout instead of a walleye or northern, to each their own tho

The fly fishing purist throw a fit if you keep a trout. They don’t even want you to touch them they are so fragile I guess.

Brookies out of a mountain lake are hard to beat!

Gut, wrap in foil and throw in the campfire.

Damn good!!
All I could catch was trout when I lived in bozeman for a few years, at best they are edible, never as good as eye or even pike tho imo...

No not trout in general.

Brook trout about 6-8 inches long out of a pristine mountain lake.

Nothing but some rock salt in the body cavity.

WAY better than any Wally or slimmer

Would a mountain lake like this be what you’re talking about. Way up in the seven devils in Idaho. Only worst tasting fish was a bullhead caught out of a stock dam in July. I was hungry as shit to after eating mountain houses for three straight days.

Yeah they throw a fit with the walleyes on the Columbia River. They hate them out there. I don't think there is even a limit on them. I know a guy that goes out there for a month at a time. Pulls cranks all night long, catches some damn big fish.
