I guess I'll keep paying my $150 per month for school lunches. Thanks you greedy old bastards :ROFLMAO:.

I liked the conversations from everyone and everyone's thoughts. Some are different than mine but not wrong in any way. I learned a few things along the way and believe I was more informed headed to the polls last night than I was a few weeks ago.

The people spoke and if I get mad about that then I don't believe in our democracy.

Also, you're not disappointing me with the Wednesday morning. I worked real hard this morning to get some things done so I could grab my coffee and read everyone's comments. Please carry on.

BHS had them in the early 80s as well.

Don't forget about the machine orange juice which was MORE sugar.

And choolate milk. Haha.
This probably contributed to it being so close, and to my struggling to understand why so many people expect schools to be responsible for feeding. Breakfast in school was not a thing in my home state. I got whatever I could grab on the way out the door, or whatever I could microwave and stuff down my throat in the 5 minutes I allowed myself some mornings.

Breakfast @ the high-schools in Bismarck in the early 90's consisted of:

1. BIG warm cinnamon rolls with oodles of sweet white frosting
2. Gooey caramel rolls about the same size

Enough simple sugars to pretty much ensure you were going to be starving hungry again in 90-120Min.

Was discussing measure 2 with a buddy a couple weeks ago and he reminded me that we didn't have the "lunch tickets" in high school like we had in elementary and Jr. High. We had the equivalent of "raffle tickets". You'd go into the office and buy string of them as needed and hand them over @ meal time.

If that was the system today some enterprising young person would probably order several rolls of those tickets off Amazon and sell them for half-price.

Thank goodness that whole system is computerized now so there's 0 fraud and 100% accountability.

But god forbid we vote yes when we're offered to abolish a tax
You need to get rid of or better manage the cost for what the tax funds first. Otherwise, you’re just transferring the cost to us taxpayers in a different form of tax and we still pay.

:ROFLMAO: Kinda like that "energy independence" Hoeven and Kramer have been spewing about the last 10 years? How's that working out for us with $6 diesel?
Don’t forget Burgum. I wonder where he’s hiding today. ...rofl...

I'm just happy we don't have to hear from Harry Potter AKA Mike Johnson anymore.

I never understood what that was supposed to mean. The only thing it could mean is restricting private oil and gas companies to no longer sell to the open (global) market. Pretty anti-capitalist. Were they going to subsidize sales to offset profit loss to keep their products in the state, AKA socialism?

Dunno, I sold my diesel pickup. New gas pickup gets basically same/same MPG and will haul/tow anything I own, will rent, or borrow. I didn't go away from diesel due to the fuel pricing, it's the cost of maintenance and the potential for fuel headaches as the weather turns colder.

I know I haven't pulled up to a gas or diesel pump to find the proper pump unable to fulfill my fuel requirement or desires. Gasoline from E85 to Ethanol-Free or all the ULSD diesel I had capacity to carry since I got my driver's permit in 1988. I haven't been in a true "gas-line" since I was in infant. Though the couple of times I pulled in to fill @ a CostCo to save a few pennies/Gal seemed close enough that I don't do that anymore.

When I was in High School and regular gas was $1.19/Gal and I had a part-time job, that price didn't affect whether or not I decided to head out of town and wander gravel roads looking for places to hunt, shoot gophers, or just wandering for wandering's sake. Now that gas is $3.50-$4.00 for my pickup and $5-ish for the non-ethanol premium I use in the boat or ATV, yeah, nothing's changed, I'm still going to use them at will.

I guess I'm an old timer but I raised two wonderful children and I paid 100% of their school meals while working my ass off 50-70 hours a week for many years. I never took one red cent from the Gov. and never would. We have a little pride and don't ask for handouts or welfare like so many lazy people do. You seem to be the Greedy young bastard that wants the taxpayers to support your family.

Just to clarify we do not have a democracy, it is called a constitutional republic.
