Has anyone had success using a heater in a ground blind? Im going to be taking a youngster with me, and want to be able to turn it on. Will a deer hear or smell this?

I have used them. The biggest thing I noticed was the noise. The sunflower type make alot of noise. I got a buddy heater with the electronic ignition.. Works well and not too load.

Same here, they smell that same smell in every yard they walk through. They don't seem to mind when our drier bins are cranking, loud as hell, propane burning and they just stand there and eat the spilled grain. I've had mature bucks downwind of me while a mister buddy is going and they are pretty cautious but little bucks and does could care less.

Get the sunflower, the louder the better. Doesn't bother the deer a bit. They must think it's the wind or something. Works great for covering up sounds the kids make also. Its a win win!

I'd be more concerned with that red glow than the sound during those low light conditions that get deer moving.
