Anyone have one of these? Contemplating trading in my boat and buying a brand spanking new crossover. I'm looking for the good the bad and the ugly about it. I found what I think is a smoking deal on a new one, but it's still a crap-ton of money so I want to hear all relevant arguments for or against it. Thanks in advance!

Lunds are good boats. This seems to be a decision you need to make whether you like the way its set up or not. Thats all personal opinion. Do you like a big front deck or more room in the back? You like a full windshield or a side counsel? Like a lot of storage or don't really give a crap? All questions only you can answer.

701 said its to small. To him maybe, to someone else not so much. Back in the day I had a 16 foot lund that I fished everything from the tailrace, Sak, the river, and everything in between out of. I fished by myself 95% of the time then and it was perfect for me. I could load it easy and if it was a little crooked on the trailer when i pulled it out it was light enough where I could reposition it myself.

I wouldn't put much stock into what others think about a boat you want to get. That being said Lund makes a solid boat.

thanks guys, I currently own a 2001 fisher fx18dv. i like the boat except for a couple things. can't stand the bubble windshields and the gunwhale livewells drive me nuts. Wife absolutely hates my current boat, so thats the main reason i'm upgrading. I'd like to get her out with me more, but that won't happen unless i change my boat. The crossover looks like it has a lot more room than my current boat, and like you Sum1 i do the majority of my fishing by myself, but, it would be nice to have more room in the main portion of the boat. I don't use the front of the boat unless my brother comes out with me, he likes to sit up there, but thats not very often. My 5 year old likes to go out on the boat and i imagine in the next few years he'll like to go tubing and what not. I plan on keeping the next boat for many years.

The crossover would be a pretty darn good boat for you. Mixes ski/tubing features with a good deep v multi species boat. Seems the have decent room(it will never be enough) good layout. And if the wife likes it already well then hook it up.

This plays into the purchase quite heavily. If you're planning on keeping it a long time. What you are thinking you'd like now, might not be the same in 5 years. I say, get the forever boat and be done with it. And by forever boat, I mean the glass with a 300 on the back lol.

Yea if i get the glass with a 300 on it, i'll be needing to buy a new house and pay a divorce attorney as well haha

Momma will hate the AL boat more than what you got now.

Please throw us a bone concerning wife's hatred of current boat. Seems like a potentially pertinent bit of information.

Ifyou're not 100% set on a brand-new one, Walleye Central has some dream boats a few years old that might fit the bill

She does not like the layout of the boat with the livewells on the side and there isn't really much room in the main part of it. when I get me, her, kid, 2 large dogs, and gear in the boat, there's just not much room left. She also hates the carpet in it and would much rather see a vinyl floor. A full walk thru windshield with a bimi top of some sort to get her out of the sun on the hot days and keep dry when we are moving is a must. As far as the AL vs Fiberglass, I don't think she's gonna care as long as she stays dry when we are moving across the lake. I'm not deadset on a lund, I just found what I think is a pretty good deal on a new one, that's why i'm looking for input on them.

I recently purchased a 1875 ProV (biggest that fits in my garage) with a 150 Merc after doing a lot of research on the engine. If you do a little digging on the Merc site you will find that the 150 burns pretty close to half the fuel of the 175, Top speed is a little less but pretty close. If you notice, the 150 is actually used as their commercial version, so I suspect it is a tough engine - it is their old 225 chassis. Displacement of the 150 is 3 litre with the 175 at 1.70 liter. And why is that important, low end torque of an engine is always proportional to displacement. The blower doesn't get to full efficiency until max rpm. The hole shot on the 150 is very good - better than 175. The 175 catches up later in the engine curve. I talked to a dealer who told me that the 150 dynos 163 hp, he said you had to round up to get 175 HP out of the 175. The 150 is a little lighter, a little simpler. The 150 is significantly cheaper with the only thing you give up is an electronic shift. In summary I am extremely happy with the 150 hole shot, goes plenty fast and the fuel consumption is good and your boat will be a little lighter than mine - so should be better.

my inlaws have an 1875 crossover w/ 150 mercury 4 stroke. I really like the layout. We use it alot for pulling the kids on the tube and the 150 does great. The live well is a little on the small side but other than that I really like the layout. I am trying to talk them into buying a new boat in a couple years so I can buy their crossover!

I'm a Lund guy. That being said the reatta is a awesome boat. Great layout, great ride, decent storage. I wouldn't think twice if I had the dime for one when I look for my next boat

So, I've been doing some more looking around online, and while looking I found a 2015 Stratos 385XF for 34k... after doing some research I've kind of made up my mind to pick this boat up. Just gotta send the dealer some pics of my current boat to see what they will give me for trade in.... unless one of you guys would like to buy it :) 2001 fisher fx18DV with a 200 opti, and a 9.9 merc kicker on it :)

The Stratos keeps me in a glass boat, and has a great layout and a 200 hp yami on it... And it meets all of my wifes criteria for making her happy...

Reatas are sexy boats. I don't own a Ranger but have fished out of them enough to believe they are ahead of the curve and live up to thier hype.
