I think hes a good guy. I hope hes in the same league as the other qb's coming out of FBS schools. Would be nice to see him with a star on his helmet!

On a side note, my wife has a picture of those two dancing together at some street fair event in Fargo. She missed another chance at riches.

he doesn't lack confidence...

he's not going #1, so at that point i'd rather wait till at least 12 or so... tough call... you go high to a shit team and get beat to hell, or go later and ride the pine on a decent or good team for maybe years and miss out on your prime...

either way he'll be cashing some pretty nice checks and living a pretty exciting life for a few years... good for him...

I think the best thing for him would be to go to a team who is looking long term. have him behind a good qb for a few seasons then take over. that way he has a chance to be developed into a star qb..
only problem is there are not alot of teams out there like that

Christian Ponder was supposed to be the next great thing. Christian who? Exactly. Tom Brady? who? picked in like the 5th round? I may have that part wrong but my point is he was not on many teams radar. My point is hype don't mean crapola. Wentz.. will make it or not make it based on what he is made of and timing and a touch of luck. Just my .02. Thanks for reading.

I have a hard time believing he goes in the first 4 rounds of the draft.

If he performs well during his Senior Bowl, pro day and combine workouts he will go in the first 2 rounds. If not he will probably slide to mid or late rounds.

I'm thinking late first round right now.

Wentz isn't going in the first round, maybe not even the second. No team is going to take that kind of risk on a guy who is jumping up two levels in competition. This is a good thing for him because he would struggle greatly if he gets thrown on the field right away. His best bet is to be a later round pick on an already good team with an aging QB that he can learn from for several years.

Carson has many quality's nfl scouts look for size, arm, running, 4.0 student, winner, and has run a pro style offense at NDSU. He has signed with agent that has had good QB's such as Big Ben, Bortles, Mariota. He is playing in the senior bowl and his coach is Jason Garret and Jerry Jones is interested. Just because your from North Dakota doesn't mean you can't be drafted in the 1st round. Only time will tell but I believe if a QB has talent and shows it at the combine he will get drafted high. I bet a lot of FBS schools wished they would have gave him a scholorship. NDSU has a connection with Texas and I believe the cowboys know that North Dakota fans travel well, They have a big stadium to fill up on Sundays!! Your at Frisco and locals are wearing Bison gear thats pretty awesome. Good luck to Carson Wentz a true humble North Dakota kid!!!!!! How many teams need a QB for the future Browns, Cowboys, Rams, Texans, Jets, 49ers, Bears, Broncos, maybe the Vikings as well!! I agree with Bfishn to sit behind a good QB would be good but disagree with that he can't be drafted in the first to rounds because he palyed FCS.

He will be drafted in the the 1st or 2nd round of the draft. Jimmy Garoppolo was drafted in the second round out of an fcs school, and this isn't a qb heavy draft.

don't get me wrong wentz is a winner and that says something right there, I just don't think he is within the top 120 players picked, but it isn't a draft that is going to have a bunch of big name qb's so who knows, All I know is from his HS days almost everyone knew he was going to get a shot at the nfl at some point, best qb I have seen in ND.

People always over pay for QB's. I'm going to take the draft "experts" opinion's over this thread's naysayers.

The Cowboys could care less about bison fans traveling well. They have bigger fanbases to care about like idk the Cowboys?!?!

Sweeney, you can't even compare those stats.
That's like taking a QB from Central Michigan, and comparing him to a SEC quarterback. STATS WILL BE INFLATED DRAMATICALLY. EIU is in the Ohio Valley conference, which is a terrible conference. All they did is throw throw throw.

I seen one guy had him a #22 and another at 30. But they were saying if he has a good showing it's possible for him to go as the second qb instead of the 3rd.

BGH Im saying the reason garoppolo went as high as he did is because he has a rocket arm and threw for 50+ TD his last season and over 5k yards in 14 games. maybe I am wrong and you guys are right and he will go on to be a 1-2 round pick, personally I don't think so, I think the way he locks on to receivers and doesn't set his feet well on the deep ball, and the way he doesn't feel pressure from his weak side and breaks contain when he could stay in the pocket and progress through his reads make him round 3-4 pick value and a project, if I had a pick in the top 60 I wouldn't use it on a project, but if I was say dallas in round 3-4 maybe I take a chance a guy could. just my opinion not dogging the guy

The Senior Bowl and his Pro Day/individual workouts will be big. If those go fine he'll be top 2 rounds easily. Ever listen to starting lineups when the players say where they played college? Lots that are from smaller FBS or FCS. They're not afraid to take guys that didn't play in a power 5 conference - Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, heck even Daunte Culpepper (not a fan but have to admit he was well above average before he got hurt). Ryan Fitzpatrick played for Harvard for pete's sake.

FightingSioux sorry for getting under your skin. I cheer for any North Dakota team thats playing in playoffs. Have you been down to Frisco? Frisco loves the Bison I'm sure they would love UND also when they make it there. North Dakota people know how to represent the state!! What I was saying is that people in Frisco and surrounding area have fell in love with the Bison. Getting a personal tour of cowboy stadium by Jerry Jones is pretty cool!! Just saying maybe I know more than you think.
