has anybody had one of these installed on a glass boat? or done one themselves? I was talking to river city about one last year and they didn't seem too interested in doing it. gonna need one for the kiddos after I rip em off the tubes.

I don't have a glass boat, but we've tried the hook on ladder off the transom and it worked well. Also, tried a rope style ladder that worked OK off the front cleats. I haven't noticed any damage from either method, but the transom was the most stable. Kids grow up fast, so i didn't want anything permanent on the boat. Good Luck!!

If he would stop making kids they might grow up. A ladder would be a good option on your boat KDM. Your not getting any younger.

Do you have a jackplate on your boat? Because there are one or two models of boarding ladders that mount directly to the jackplate.

I guess I view a swim ladder as a safety device in case my fat ass ever fell overboard so I didnt want the hook on type. I installed the one below on my lund. Make sure you get at least a 2 step or even a 3 step. The single step ones are hard to use when that step is only in the water about 10"

Yep!! A hook on wouldn't be near as good as the attached for safety. We just used it when we pulled skiers or tubes.

yes it does flip up. assuming you have an OB motor, it can be mounted on either side of the motor. if you have an I/O they make a model that has 2 handles.

It should work. the only thing I dont like is the velcro strap that holds the ladder in place when it is folded up is kinda tricky to use when leaning over the transom to try to put the ladder down for the kids. Not terrible though. I would buy it again.

My Ranger has puny stepladder. Unless you're gymnast, good luck getting back in the boat. With the recessed transom there is nothing to brace other foot against and is hard to get your foot high enough to get on the first step. I had some teenage boys last year struggle to get back in the boat without someone pulling them in. When I tried to get in it took two of them hauling me over the transom. Until that day I felt safe knowing I could climb up in the boat myself if I ever took a dump in icy water. Not so sure about that now. I wouldn't mind getting The same type of ladder but longer with an extra step

don't forget in the unfortunate event you do end up in the drink you can sit/stand on the cavitation plate and tilt the motor up with trim button (reachable from the side on many models)

if motor is running and in gear this might not work out :;:smokin

That twist step ladder looks legit! I had not seen that before. I'm gonna have to invest in one. Much better than the fleet farm special that hangs over side the kids struggle with.
