    Pike bait

    So being this is my first season on the ice, what would people recommend for pike bait? I know a local shop that sells frozen smelt, Scheels has suckers (though from what i understand they'd have to be dead before I can use them on a lake), and I've heard hot dogs?? Clearly I've never done this...

    In the Fargo area but looking to go out maybe up to 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

    New to ice fishing and I was wondering where the best place to get ice reports from would be and if anyone had any updates on ice thickness right now?! Itching to get out, but not trying to go for a swim! Thanks.
