There is a little nub sticking on the butt where the tail feathers grow out off, I do not know what it is called. Find that nub and then run a tape measure from the nub to the end of the tail feather. Then add about 3/8 to 1/2 inch to the length. It is not 100% accurate but very close. Do it a few times on birds you shoot for practice, and you will be surprised how close it is.

I've never put a tape to a tail feather. I just count the bars, my best so far this year is 37 bars.

These came out of Pembina County. They were NOT measured or entered in any contest.

There is more than you could hunt in a lifetime, but those that sit behind a computer and bitch about having no land to hunt will never find it.

Alright you got me have been complaining about something that hurt the sportsmen around the state. Now im the bad guy just still mad about areas that are now off limits to any average person that anybody used to be able to walk free of charge. Before the e posting a person could go and walk alot of areas for game. So now we only have a few spots to walk without breaking the law. And its more about the way they are posting. The young punks that hunt like to post it for themselves and its not just there land its the trusts an all of the ground that wss open before. Also around my area some of the trust land is posted by the banks. So its b.s. shuts alot of people out of areas they had been in.

If u had ground that you hunted for many years get taken out of your playbook for hunting you might see the other story. Its not right how they can post lands that are not their own. So this is an example so the owners are senile old folks that rent land and they get a check whenever. So u call and sell them into posting the land under your name. Its a bunch of b.s those spots like that were the only places alot of people had to hunt. In a given area seen it happen in divide county its fucking greed. And go and try and walk legally good luck those same people that farm it will never return your call. Im done trying to get on the areas we have killed birds for years. Its over up that way e posting/efencing sowed those areas are done. Unless im going to break the law its a fucking joke buddy.

Im not saying if i owmed land in 3a1 i would not post it. Its deeper the ndgnf has issued double the tags up there for cwd? So if u are a person trying to protect the herd of whitetails. In the n.w corner of the state they issued like 1000 buck tags more than there are bucks in that unit i mean common sense dont hunt there the landowners seen that shit like 4400 deer tags in 3a1 no fucking way thats a bounty imo there are not more than 6000 deer in that unit so u guys want to kill the spread from canada i understand but the landowners are not on board with lets issue more tags than deer in 3a1 see what happens.
