My 11 year old son has his first deer tag and we have a piebald doe on our property. I want to do something cool if he can get her but unsure what. I'm wondering if there's any taxidermists here that have any ideas? I also don't want to spend a bunch of money so I'm looking at working out a deal in return to use her at shows.

Sorry, couldn't leave it alone. You have a piebald deer and want to do a pretty awesome mount, but don't want to spend a bunch of money. I'd say your options are limited at this point. European mount of the skull and a picture?

Also, do you have a picture? It'd be pretty neat to see and then of course any real feedback that you get.

It's okay. I just figure I'd throw it out there. You never know if a taxidermist is looking for something rare to take to shows.

I you thought about giving her a year or two to see if her fawns have the same traits?

I have not. My son has his mind set on taking her and I don't want to chance never seeing her again. Deer do not stick around our property for the winter and I'm not even sure she'll be around by opener. Right now I'm worried the bucks will chase her out of there once the rut really picks up. There's been about 5 different bucks coming in and sniffing around.

Did she just recently show up? Was she not around during youth season? Cool looking animal and good luck to your son!

We did not hunt there for youth season. We hunted in the badlands since my wife also has a cow elk tag and we were trying to get both. I don't know how long she's been around since I haven't ran cameras for a couple of years and just purchased and put these ones up.

I have cameras up where I hunt. I would get 1 or 2 pictures a night on camara. When I started putting corn and apples out. They came like crazy. I put 2 or 3 five gallon buckets of corn out and a five gallon bucket of apple. Every 4 days as everything is gone. There is a liquid called Deer Cane that I pour on the corn in the buckets. They go crazy over that. I have many pictures of 6 or 7 Does at a time coming in. These bucks are standing in the corn.

If you put feed out they will stick around.
