Been thinking about buying for a few years now. Not just for hunting but because they are fun as hell to ride also. There are SO many manufacturers out there right now, and prices have finally gotten to the point I pulled the trigger.

This one looks like a beast but it's over 2x the price and twice the weight. For those who have these, what do you own and what are your impressions?

Aventon!
Good price point for average recreational to mountain riding. Customer service has been great! Wife and I both have Aventons (Pace 500.3 and Pace 4) and get 60+ miles to a charge. Have a friend that has a fat tire Aventon and he has just under 8k on it and still going strong.

Looking at the specs, seems like you are paying a lot for the name. How does the power feel on your pace 4?

Would that be illegal off road on public land, as it is a motorized wheeled vehicle
Sounds like it's considered an ohv, to be legally considered an ebike in nd it needs to be less than 750w motor. Need to check where you ride I guess. No electric at all are allowed for mah de hay trail I guess

ebikes work GREAT when there is no snow. With some snow, those rocks, branches, logs, ruts, badger holes, gopher mounds, and all the other hazards found in the field play havoc on a bike when you hit'em under the snow. Rode one to and from a stand one weekend with about 6 inches of snow on the ground and damn near kissed the earth a couple times from hidden obstacles. Not saying don't get one. Just a different perspective to consider.

There seems to be a lot of interest. You should buy 4 or 5 and test them and come back with your findings. Now would be a great time as we are just getting into the winter months. Battery life in cold weather would be very important.

Most of my riding is on trails or hard surface. The Pace 4 uses torque sensing on the crank set. I ride for fun & exercise so I use a low assist level that provides power only when a fair amount of torque on crank. Only use the throttle when going up long hills like U Mary hill. I can adjust the max speed up to around 29 mph with phone app. I am about 220# and it has plenty of power for me.
