What percentage of those individuals were going to end up on the street regardless of their veteran status? There is a non-zero percentage of people that join the military because they have few other options, and they don't call it 'Uncle Sam's Misguided Children' for nothing.

And there is plenty of help out there for them if they are willing to seek it. Fact is some just don't want to and there's a percentage that would be in the same situation whether they served or not.

Problem with these programs\handouts\free money is, the more they give out the longer the lines are getting to receive the "free stuff".

When they were showing the homeless in Bismarck on the news the other day, there was a lady sitting in a chair under the canopy smoking a dart and talking on her cell phone.

Any ideas or suggestions to help? There are tens of thousands of people employed to help Veterans specifically that collectively have billions allocated that they can access to help.

Potentially an accurate statement, but potentially not... How many of those homeless people are lying about there service? How many were kicked out of the military for being a shithead. I am still serving and I see this a lot... Just because you are a veteran doesn't mean you're a good person. I served with 3 people who attempted and 8 people that took their own lives - NONE OF THEM WERE EVER HOMELESS or panhandling on the streets. Most were far from it.

I am all for taking care of people that want to take care of themselves first.

Winter is my favorite time of year because our streets clean up, but when you start seeing this problem in the smaller cities like Minot, Jamestown, VC... that's not good...
