    GSP Misbehaving

Haha yep, I know their reputation. We got really lucky and ours is pretty mellow. Or at least has been until this.

    GSP Misbehaving

We have an 8 year old GSP. She has recently started ransacking the garbage can and kitchen counters on a regular basis. It started about 6 months ago but has really ramped up in frequency in the last few weeks. We never had a problem with it prior. She will grab unopened bags of chips...

    Asbestos vinyl tiles

If you remove it yourself, are you allowed to say the asbestos is gone and/or not disclose it if you sell the house? I always thought you had to have a certified 'abatement' done with paperwork if you were going to say the place was 'abated' and the asbestos 'gone.' I thought it was that way...

    Vehicle "Safety" Work Arounds

I didn't know they had it monthly, thought you had to buy the whole year. I will have to look into that.

    Canning Frustration

That would make sense. If I remember right, the lime works by Calcium diffusing into the cells in the cucumbers and giving them some structure after the heat damages the cells. I'd guess alum does something similar.

    weather terms for~

I always thought Alberta Clippers were a type of snowstorm that usually tracked down through Alberta. Due to their nature, extreme cold usually followed. Dad used to have a pair of the mickey mouse boots when I was a kid. I've always heard they were the best for extreme cold because the...

    Vehicle "Safety" Work Arounds

Chrysler does something similar. It's $150 per year for their Uconnect subscription that enables remote start through the phone bundled with a plethora of other useless features, like 'vehicle health reports.' They don't have just the remote starting ala carte so it's all or nothing. There's...

    Canning Frustration

Back when I did pickled jalapenos I used pickling lime. Main thing was to rinse them very well or the lime would mess up the pH of the solution and could allow bacteria growth. Mom canned pickles (among many other things) a lot and hers were not mushy; I know she didn't use lime or anything...

    Buying snowshoes advice

I built a set of wood traditionals from a kit. Aesthetically, traditionals can't be beat. They are my favorite but I always feel bad when I have to drag them across roads/paths and stuff. They are big though, a little over 60" and could probably float my family. The least fun part was the...

    Buying snowshoes advice

Type of snow, weight, and type of terrain are the biggest factors. Bigger shoes mean more flotation and easier walking. But the size becomes a hindrance in woods sometimes. Pointy tips help keep the shoes from getting kicked to either side by branches/grass but they weigh more. The weight of...

    Boat towing question

While most engines run on plain gasoline and the Octane rating is important, Subarus depend on a granola blend and Oatane is the number you're looking for. You'll have to ask the station owner/operator for their numbers as they're not generally displayed on the pump.

    Registration Question

I'm not super worried about getting pulled over, I've never been hassled before and pulled lots of unplated stuff through MN over the years. Mostly I'm worried about two things. I don't want any liability falling back on the guy I bought it from if I ever sell it and the new owner does...

    Registration Question

I bought a boat from MN last summer. In MN, the trailer is titled through Motor Vehicle and the boat is registered with DNR. The registration of the boat was no issue here in ND. Our MV said we don't register trailers that small, so I left it alone. I have received a few letters recently...

    Christmas gift

Kind of on this subject I saw orbeez guns at Wally World the other day. We wore out the ones we had and could never find more. So much better than nerf as you don’t have to go collecting darts and the little pellets dry out and get sucked up in the vacuum. Begging Ms. Clausbto extend the...

    Any Birders here?

I have only seen one in the 10 years I've lived here by Grand Forks. Back home growing up there were many, but that was a wooded area. They are very cool birds.

    Cornish Game Hens

This is what we do as well whenever we make fowl. When I was growing up Mom would make egg noodles on the countertop from scratch and make soup. They were more like long, skinny dumplings and they were great. Haven't had that in a long time. The last few years when we all got together for...

    Buck Chug

We wonder why some people have such disdain for hunters/hunting. I hope turning an animal you've taken the life of into a party favor and whoring it out for youtube likes carries some stiff penalties in hell.

    Boat fails/shit happens 2020

I ran across this YouTube channel last night and thought of this thread. It’s camera footage from boat ramps in Florida. Some of the jet ski people are particularly entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS-CXLneDQckE9UisP3ovjQ
