Deer Rifle Sight In Issues: I feel like an absolute dunce

On the other hand, when you don't get a tag very often, think about all the shooting you will get when you're not exactly sure where the bullet will hit. Hunted with a lady once who was shooting at a buck running along a hill at about 100 yds. 1st shot - 20 feet in front. 2nd shot - 4 feet high...

To clean or not to clean

Don't know about a deep cleaning but if you're going to park it for another 6 years a few strokes down the barrel and some light oil certainly wouldn't hurt.. That and wipe the fingerprints off the metal. Pristine guns are fairly simple to keep them in that condition.

    Favorite Canadian Destinations

Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting. Kississing Lake is also a good trip but Reed Lake in MB was a favorite for a family trip every spring for many years. If you're in northern ND there are also plenty of good walleye lakes nor far across the border.

    Alpha Glass

Outweighing the cost is a relative term IMO. I have Vortex 10X42 and am happy with them. For me the area of ND where I like to hunt deer is pretty much an "every 5 or 6 years" I might draw a buck tag. Just don't hunt big game as often as I once did so don't use my binoculars all that often...

    Left eye dominant shooting

In the long run shooting with the dominant eye will be the best choice. Have heard that advice from more than one shooting coach/instructor. The good news is that today left-handed guns are readily available. Have a grandson who is right-handed and left eye dominant. In the beginning he wanted...

    Broken collarbone

Injuries in any activity are never fun for anyone. More so when it's your kids who are involved. But they do happen. I was involved as a coach and fan while working at schools. Don't think any one sport was much different than another as far a injuries. Bone breaks probably more frequent in...

    What's in your cup?

    Electric Vehicles

EV will be nice for me. I live 160miles from I94 and 130 from I29. In the winter I might not have enough charge to get to a station.

    College debt~

I'm like everyone else. Acts like this are BS but the good news is that I don't see any way that this will ever go in effect. Will be a bribe for elections for awhile but will never pass the Supreme Court. Another issue for me is that it's only for the students who can't afford to pay back the...

Alec Baldwin Is Being Truthful...Sort Of

Pretty sure he's guilty of something but not sure what. Definitely careless (remember the rule" Don'y point at anything you don't intend to shoot." What baffles me is how does a live round show up on a movie set? Who loaded the firearm and couldn't tell that there was a live round in the gun and...

    Do you tell the family?

I suppose you could get checked On the other hand you did realize you weren't where you wanted to be and knew enough to read street signs to get where you wanted to go. Now that you realize you might need to pay better attention to where you want to go it seems like you're not as bad as it may...

    Tax deductions on farm equipment

I would think you could also deduct a truck but would be limited to the % it's used on the farm. Thinking you would not be able to deduct mileage and the truck. Worst thing would be getting too carried away and cause an audit. Keep expenses reasonable and don't cause any red flags.

    Rifle Scope

I admit I don't have an abundance of experience with many other brands. I have been very satisfied with my Leopold's, accurate and no problems and when I like something I tend to stick with that and don't experiment much. Maybe I'm too old to not agree with the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."...

    I'm a Leopold fan myself.

    I need a seasickness solution

Wristbands worked for my FIL fishing in Alaska. Strange thing was that he had them on backwards so the pressure point wasn't applying any pressure at all. Must have been his faith in the bands. Whenever I've fished in the ocean or big water in this state I've made sure I never stare at the...

Always nice to find a heirloom of value. Truth is most finds are valuable memories. Just something that reminds a person of good times past.

    Patio/Deck Furniture

I bought metal (aluminum) chairs and table with see through plastic top about 20 years ago. Chairs all have cushions which were replaced a few years ago. Showing a little wear and actually looking for some now but cannot find much other than the aforementioned plastic. This furniture does sit in...

    Gutter Guards?

I realize there are those among us that like to do projects such as this ourselves. Me? I also believe there are those among us that need jobs. I've reached the age where I much prefer watching someone else on the ladder and I will pay that person a fair price to complete the job that I am no...

    Decrease speed limit

Mileage on my pickup isn't bad until a wind or trailer becomes involved. If I even think about hooking up a trailer (which is often necessary) it seems that the mileage goes down. If I never needed to pull a trailer, why would I even need a pickup? Not entirely true, I'm just more comfortable in...

    The Benjamin button effect

Cocoon was it. I recall the movie as good entertainment. Need more of those movies.
