Anyone need a good work car?

This is a great car and for anyone that doesn't know DM- he is very particular about keeping his possessions in tip-top shape. I have ridden many hours to and from Minneapolis in this Subaru and it's AWD was great in any weather. Anyone who gets it won't be disappointed. Just my $0.02

    2018 Fish House Project

I have an insulated Eskimo 3i. I've taken my neighbor's kids out in that a few times over the last three years. My thought and intent is that my boys probably are going to want to be doing some outside time anyways- sledding, snowball fights, pulled on Grandpa's snowmobile a bit. I'll...

    Beaver bay

I put a report up from my outing on 1/19/2019. Can only imagine there's more ice now. I had a friend say that it was still a bit on the slow side last week. Only had one 8# northern and a small perch. He fished the west side of the bay. Said ice was good in most places, but closer to the...

    2018 Fish House Project

That's true. And although my time is valuable like anyone else's, I did have a lot of fun working with my father-in-law and neighbors, learning things and now have something I built to have pride in. My two boys enjoyed spending some "grandpa time" and "helping" as well as you can see in the...

    2018 Fish House Project

That is correct. I probably would have been much farther ahead considering the implicit costs and worked a 2nd job versus putting the time into fish-house. That being said, I don't think that we put but a few weekends of work into it full time. Otherwise it was just a small project here and...

    2018 Fish House Project

I have kept all the receipts from purchases but haven't calculated a grand total. I would say close to 7,200. We saved of money by using wood that was home-milled. Considering we modeled it after the "Rice Lake" Ice Castles that run around 12,000 I'm satisfied. I am probably going to get a...

    2018 Fish House Project

Did a recent ice-fishing report where I said I'd do a forum post on my fish-house project. So here it is: It all started over February 2018, when I sat down with my father-in-law and discussed his willingness to help me undertake the project -- versus buying a pre-fab wheelhouse. He put a...

    Custom Ice rods

Wade at Dakota Tackle has some wrap that kind of like the anti-slip material used for tennis rackets. It works pretty good. He has a few options for colors.

    Thanks Little Minneapolis

I agree with this to some extent. Not to play the Devil's advocate, but I believe the bill states that the individual would have to be deemed dangerous. If the person had charges of domestic violence or sexual abuse already, do we really want that particular person to have guns with the...

    AK Fishing

Had a great friend and his family fish south of Seward with this group this summer. https://www.millerslandingak.com/ They did really well on both halibut and salmon. Competitively priced, I thought. I have personally stayed there, 2017. But we did not fish with this outfit. However, I...

    Beaver Bay ice

I went out to the East Side of Beaver Bay on 12/1/2018. Ice was around 6 inches most places. I fished the north side of the bay. Others came afterwards and fished along the north side as well. Bring a spud bar just in case.

    Advanced Sausage Making

Capital City Restaurant Supply is a good start. Butcher Block in Mandan usually has a good selection of meat processing items/mixes as well. We usually use Bjorn's Seasoning (Honey garlic) for our ring style sausage and tried their summer sausage mix to supplement our homemade summer sausage...

    Barnes TTSX bullets

My wife shoots a 7mm-08 with Barnes TTSX 120 grain. She is a much better shot than I am, but by her demonstrations for deer the past three years, it is a very excellent choice. All three have been well placed, through the heart shots. This year she made an incredible shot at 426 yards.

    Alaska Vacation Ideas

THIS!!!!! Also, if you're thinking of doing the RV route, I would pack light. You can get a drive to the RV that you pick up, take said RV to the nearest Walmart/Grocery store/Outdoor Rec place and get your food, fishing license, outdoor gear, etc.
