    Looking for mid-size pickup

You never know when a situation may come up where you need to pull something heavy. Anything less than a 6.5' box isn't good for much. Those are the first things that come to my mind, I'd recommend sticking to a 1/2 or 3/4.

    Security/Trial Camera ??

Do you want to be notified when the camera detects something? If so you'd need a camera with a cellular plan or it would have to be within range of a good WiFi connection.

Why do you reel left and right handed?

I wouldn't be able to set the hook or feel bites very well with the rod in my left hand. I do fine with my linecounters reeling on the right because your just holding the rod and reeling it in, no finesse needed.

Ice Fishing in 49 days. I'm calling it!

    November 15th is my guess.

    Chevy 2.7 turbo

My dad has had a half ton with the 2.7 in it for a while now. I've rode in it quite a bit and it seems to do well. He pulls his 17' boat with it and a few other small trailers and it does just fine. He says it gets good mileage, can't remember the numbers he gave.

What will you do different this ice fishing season?

I'd like to try to spend more time finding day time walleyes rather than typically only fishing the sunrise/sunset bite.

How late have you boat fished?

I normally fish Sak out of the boat up until around the time that Audubon freezes over, then switch over to ice fishing. Early November is probably the latest my boat has been in the water.

    Top of the Morning!

Good morning! Coldest I saw on the way to work this morning was 28*. I'm going to winterize the camper tomorrow and re-arrange the shop to be more winter-friendly. Hoping to get some fishing time in this weekend.

    Fall salmon

I got a report of someone catching them from shore tossing cranks. I'm guessing a lot of boats will be long lining this weekend. Good luck, bleed em and get them on ice.

    Top of the Morning!

I'm picking out spots to try this weekend. Fishing Audubon tomorrow morning and the east end of Sakakawea Sunday afternoon. Haven't been on Sak in a while so I'm sure it'll take some driving around to find them.

    What is your dream boat?

Yar-Craft 219TFX would be my dream boat. I'd like to have one someday but that day is a long ways away haha. For now, my Sylvan Viper does just fine.

    Who's Ready For Ice Fishing?

I'm looking forward to it, but still have a lot of boat fishing to enjoy yet this fall. Ice fishing is much more relaxing for me which is a nice change of pace.

    Knots...Braided to Mono

I used to always use the uni to uni knot for braid to mono/fluoro, but recently switched to the alberto knot. The alberto knot is quite a bit easier to tie IMO, and isn't as bulky. It slides through the guides quite a bit nicer.

    Bitcoin

Day to day finances are that easy, yeah. But stuff like retirement planning, personal investing, building wealth and diversifying, etc. Should all be taught at least a little bit in high school. It is not even touched, even in accounting classes. You'd be surprised how many kids get their first...

    Water headed for Sakakawea?

Speaking of water levels, has anyone used the East ramp at Ft. Stevenson (DeTrobiand)? It was pretty shallow coming out of there last fall just curious of what it is like now.

    Audubon transition?

I've spoken with the game and fish on this subject. It's in the works that Audubon will be stocked with 300k walleye fingerlings in 2022. The reasons for not stocking the last few years were slow growth rate, high abundance of small fish, lower condition (skinny) fish, and good natural...
