Which portion of your electronics is your MUST HAVE? If your graphs all went to crap, except somehow it was allowing one of the "aspects" to be shown, which would you use? 2D Sonar? Down Imaging? Side Imaging? Forward Facing Tech? 360?
I think I would pick side imaging. Finding those fish...
Not in my opinion. The 32 shows fish very well. The 34 is better, don't get me wrong, but the 32 does the job just fine.
It seems like I use mine to help me ride the edge of a shelf, or to find dropoffs and other grade changes more than anything.
When pitching jigs I run Suffix 832 or Power Pro for my main line, then tie on a 3 to 6 foot fluoro leader. I heard a podcast today suggest using a mono leader instead of a fluoro leader to give it a more whispy effect. Fluoro is abrasion resistant but I would say that is not terribly needed...
Does anyone still use a drift sock? It wasn't very long ago that I remember seeing them all over and everywhere. Now I hardly ever see one hooked to a boat. I still use mine when drifting on a breezier day and when the conditions dictate it.
