Well this is going to get interesting

The thought actually crossed my mind as well! I wonder what the legalities are of such a thing? Are there any rules/regulations on the go fund me site that state whether or not documentation on purchases is required? Are they (or anyone) required to pay taxes on the money earned?

    Eye Dominance

At such a young age, I would try to prevent the bad habits from forming right now. If she's trying to use that left eye, let her use it, but make sure she has the proper equipment. Take her to the nearest archery shop and let her shoot some left handed bows to see how they feel.

Elk hunting - the hard way

Throw a little blowdown and some elevation gain into the mix and you're in for a rough trip back to the truck. I never thought I'd be so happy to see the gravel road that my truck was parked on. People think we're stupid for doing it, but their minds quickly change when they taste the delicious...

Why would you take her luggage with if she's not going? Leave her at home, take the kids, and you're good to go.

Elk hunting - the hard way

Congratulations on an awesome hunt! I didn't get to go out for archery season this year, but I'll make a quick trip for rifle. Be prepared to go every year from here on out. Not a day goes by during the off season that I'm not thinking about elk hunting, gear, or maps.

    Sign

Here come the "it's gonna be an early rut" posts....haven't seen anything significant yet. Just the young ones pretending to be big. Acorns have started dropping at a few of my spots. Unfortunately for me, those spots are nearly inaccessible :(

(Portable) tree stand options for public land

Lone Wolf is another good option for a lightweight stand and climbing sticks. I've never hunted with a ghost blind, but have thought about adding one to my arsenal.

It seems some of the protesters have moved to the worksite south of St. Anthony now. One of them even attached himself to a piece of machinery using plaster of paris.....I guess...

    Dove Opener!!!

What do you guys look for in a "hot spot"? I've never managed to find a spot with enough birds to make it worth while. Standing corn or a cut wheat field with water near by?

    office etiquette part 2!

Sounds to me like you've been using the wrong bathroom again...??? The blood gives you something to aim for though. Much like trying to remove the dried on poop streak that sits just above the water line.

    Hunting Socks/Liner Socks

A quality pair of socks like darn tough do not require a liner. They are a little pricey up front, but the lifetime warranty helps ease the pain. They make a variety of options to fit everyone's needs. I've worn the same pair for 7 days with no issues or smell. If blisters are a concern, apply...

    new hiking, hunting boots

I had one pair that was in its 18th season. Threw them away back in June. Thankfully I bought a backup pair a year or two after the first pair was purchased. They haven't seen much use the past few years, but they are still in excellent condition. The pronghorns are an excellent boot for the money.

    Base layers

Merino is great against the skin, but you'll need a good insulation layer for sitting in the extreme cold. I've been wearing down jackets/pants the last few years and absolutely love it. King of the Mountain makes some excellent cold weather wool jackets and bibs.

    new hiking, hunting boots

$$$ don't necessarily mean quality, and you don't have to buy something like Kenetrek to hunt in the mountains. There are lots of good boot manufacturers (Lowa, Zamberlan, Crispi, Scarpa, Salomon, etc.), but I certainly wouldn't put Kenetrek near the top of that list. You simply need something...

    new hiking, hunting boots

Check out the Salomon Quest 4D GTX hiking boots. Been wearing them year round unless I'm sitting in a tree stand during the late season. They have a ton of miles on them, and are holding up great. I bought them specifically for elk hunting, but they are so comfortable that I've started wearing...

That big chunk of plots land in the badlands

It's my understanding that there are no vehicles allowed on any of the property. There are a few roads around the property for which to gain access.
