    Tree Saddles

I still have my Anderson tree sling. It’s a young man’s stand. I bought one back in the mid-80s and still have it. If you’re young and strong they are great. We used to use them in trees that had some limbs to rest your feet on. That’s important. I still use mine on occasion to pull deer out.

    Sak Salmon

The farthest up Sak that I have caught them was in some small bays around Indian Hills. This was pitching crank baits in spring time. Truthfully, I have caught way more salmon ice fishing. Vintage 2015. I have thrown these on here before this was all near the dam. Back off of the dam and find...

Squirted tape cassette cleaner in my eyes one day thinking it was Visine. I was driving down a back road in Alaska. Temporary blindness and much pain.

    solar light

Have had very good luck with them as long as they get some sunlight. i’ve tried several different brands. The best ones I find are on Amazon. Here’s the latest ones I got. They work very well and stay lit for 45 seconds with motion. That’s the longest time I have personally witnessed comparing...

    Lightweight treestand

Never, knock on wood. I am always strapped to the tree with a lifeline going up and down and a full harness while in the stand. I did not used to be that safe In younger days, but there’s so much good equipment now. I have also used a Lineman’s strap while putting steps on

    Lightweight treestand

I got one of these a few years ago and it is the ultimate in light weight and portability, like anything the good stuff is not cheap. https://chippewawedgeloc.com/product/ghost/ I have three of the chain systems. Once you have those in place it is easy to go from spot to spot in hang this...

    Channel A

I caught a monk once when he got too close to my crankbait. Or, maybe my crankbait got too close to him? Either way he put up a good fight

    Walleye Rod Setups

Imagine a percentage of us have been using nanofil for at least five years after a magna thin, fire line term. Wow, pitching or long casting any bait, the unreal distance with the right set up. Vertical, etc. jigging, Cranks, Beef up. I think I’ve used about every brand of rod under the sun but...

    Buying gold and silver.

I have bought quite a bit of gold and silver over the years. It’s a hedge against big market crashes like we saw in 2008. more so when I have a little bit extra pay at the end of the month i usually buy a little bit of silver, be it coins or bars etc. It’s a fun hobby and for those that want to...

    Squirrel season extended

gotta say. he's a bit too much on the knife. Small sharp hatchet takes the feet off one quick chop per. Warm flesh... skin comes off easily. Like his method... definitely works but I cut slit at neck and strip down. Feet already off and head cut off last. put foot on head for leverage if you need to

    Squirrel season extended

Growing up in MO as a young hunter we ate gray squirrels often. Didn't like the fox squirrels we find mostly in ND and all over MO. Seek the tender grays...Soak in milk/water/salt. Drain and pressure cook until tender. Coat in egg, milk, peppered flour and fry med high heat in 1/4 inch oil on...
