    Pickup Lines

Did, "Have you met Ted?" Once and dated the gal for a few months. Only time I tried a dumb pickup line. You need a wingman for it to work though.

    Winnipeg 2018

You can stay out there, but no adult beverages on the ice. I've seen some park their ice castles just off the ice on a road and camp. Then they run out every day on a snowcat or four-wheeler.

    Winnipeg 2018

I've had good and bad that time of year. River starts to flow and you fight with water clarity. I've done very well in January and February, but if it's -10 in Minot, it's -30 up there. March can be tough, but the weather tends to be better. Someday I'll be up there and won't get ice auger ADD.

    Moving to the Jamestown Area

Pipestem can have good crappies. I think it's cyclic. Great for a year, then decreases, then increases, then great again. My best luck with crappies is working turns of the river channel. As for the reservoir, there's lots of points and a windy river channel. Every now and then I found...

    Extended Vehicle Warranty

Bought a minivan from Rides in Bismarck. All their cars come with lifetime motor/tranny warranty. Was very thorough with that and the salesman asked me why I was asking so much about the warranty. I told him that when this hits 200k miles, I'll buy my wife a new van and this will be my...

Still use beet knives. When it gets cold/hot, the knife is used to open the beet and measure internal temp.

    Reels

For the price, a president is tough to beat. I have several that work great after a few summers of guiding. I have some shimanos I like as well, but for $100 vs $60, I don't really think they're better.

    Favorite fishing rod/reel

My favorite is a custom I built. 6ft 3 St. Croix SC V. Recoil guides, and spalted maple split grip. Reel is a Pfluger patriarch. It's my jigging walleye baby.

    Ice Fishing Dream Trip?

Clear Water is on my bucket list. I've been to Winnipeg a couple dozen times and love it there. I think I'm hitting Last Mountain Lake the end of February. But big Lakers is something I've been dreaming about for sometime. - - - Updated - - - And Arctic Tarpon. Gotta go to Nanuvut for that.

    Brainstorming 2nd Ice Unit Options

Maybe a sonar phone is the answer. They run $120 and are small. Then your friend can use their personal phone and not bust something that's yours.
