    Been out for sharp-tails 5 times so far. Opener was good, bird numbers have been good, weather is crap. Wind, rain, heat, repeat. Very few hunters that I have seen. I'm hoping to get to the badlands for grouse before pheasant season opens.

    Ditto for PF and also buy a duck stamp. That money goes to purchase Waterfowl Production Areas that are open to the public and increase most wildlife.

    Montana sharp-tail season opens Sept. 1st every year while ND waits for the second Sat. of the month. BS. We're getting the short end. My dogs are going bonkers.

    Dog with torn ACL

    Dr Tom Bentenhurst (SP) who was at Missouri Valley Vet did TPLO on my wirehair and it was great. I think he works out of the Mandan vet office now. The same dog shattered a foreleg, different time, and Tom plated it, worked out fine. I'd go to him in a minute.

    No, I did not. An issue came up that will keep me closer to home. Most western states open grouse September 1st regardless which day it falls on and ND should do the same. We miss so many days hunting because of the late opener. By the end of September you are pretty much done as the sharp-tails...

    I have never bled a walleye as I can't tell the difference on the table but I ice them right away also. I think they fillet better too, JMO.
