    River is open....Well sort of!

    on the west end, the ice now starts about a mile west of camp cherith... with highs in the 60's and moderate to high winds, it will move east fairly quickly i would think... main issue is getting the bays to clean up where the first couple ramps are...

    i'm waiting for the recreational batteries to catch up with the tool and phone technology... some day i can wee where we carry batteries the size of a vhs tape to use in the boat for a day, then pop them out and take home to charge for the night... think how far cell phone batteries have come...

    we were going up every week a few years ago so saw the same agents all the time... it's best to get along with them as i've seen trucks and boats gutted at the border... i don't remember a birth certificate and drivers license being good enough - we were told we needed a passport and always...

    have 2 trips planned to last mountain lake in sask - 1 in may for pike and 1 in july for eyes... - - - Updated - - - you've needed a passport to drive into canada for years... you will also need 1 to fly starting later this year i believe... the card works for driving into canada or mexico...
