    The Great Escape

I’m sure it’s “all of the above”. It’s genetics. It’s supplements. It’s catching lightning in a bottle sometimes. Not all that different from raising a prize winning angus bull. These are highly managed and expensive animals. That rancher probably lost about $60000 that weekend. You’d think he...

Disease transmission would be my main concern, yes.

That’s fine for the three lucky guys but that is unacceptable as a whole for hunters and the wild deer population.

Nah man. I come get it later with the ATV (private land). If I had to pack it out, I definitely do it like you say (gutless method). This year has been about perfect for temps. I hung the whole thing in my garage and I’ve been able to cut off as I have time to butcher. Last year sucked. Too...

    Hazelton boat landing closing

Before this gets out of hand, I did NOT say ban them outright. I said their use in wildlife management areas where wildlife protections exist and are a priority. It wouldn’t be all that different than having to park at a designated area and walk in from there. In any case, I’ll drop it.

I’m not worried about screwing the field hunters. What I don’t like is the guy ripping through there in the predawn hours and blowing every bird out of the area. It’s a big marsh. I get it but c’mon.

Never been to Lost Lake. I guess it depends on where he goes. I’ve seen him on some WMA but looking at the map again, a lot of it is simply Corps land and wildlife management isn’t high on their list of fucks given.

Because they hold heat if you don’t get them opened up and might still have 4-5 miles left to complete the drive.

He’s on the WMA a lot. And by definition, there is a certain amount of wildlife protection for those areas. I can’t see how those boats aren’t a giant nuisance to the wildlife.

There is some separation of duties in my household. She’s not changing oil on the car or running the chainsaw and I’m not doing a whole lot of grocery shopping. But I help with most everything else. Cooking duties are split, dishes, laundry, cleaning up after kids, etc.

Wags is a bit of a pansy. Bet he can’t gut his own deer.

Normally I’m not one for more rules but, maybe we should consider a ban of use of those things on WMAs.

My wife doesn’t hunt but she helps with the processing. She loves venison. Likes her steaks so rare she’d take a bite out of a live deer if I let her.

I’m not a big fan of that air boat either. But yah, that boat ramp is staying open.
