This Is What Life in North Dakota Looked Like in 1935

Well things have come full circle in regards to Picture #4, I think there are close to 15 schools now playing 6 man football in ND!

    Archery wyoming elk

I have never looked into elk in Wyoming but am assuming the draw system is the same as for antelope and here is the best description that I can find on how the lottery works in Wyoming. Not sure if this really answers any of your questions though? For the draw, Wyoming uses a preference point...

    deformed mt lion

I used to show the video, "I am not a Freak" prior to starting our genetics unit when I taught HS Biology. Look it up on You Tube and go to 21:35 and watch the chinese man with two heads, very similar to what this lion looks to have! If you have the time there is some interesting "stuff" in...

    Trailer

If you buy a trailer with the mesh ramp in the back like shown in the first picture that back ramp will act like a sail! My brother in law has that exact one and my tandem axle car hauler pulls way easier! It is a nice trailer but we pull it with the ramp laid flat on the trailer bed if at all...

Fished Metigoshe last wednesday, lots of vehicle activity on the south lake by Little Metighose State Park, the ice was about 12"-15". BUT we were on the north lake as well and never found more than 6"-7" of ice. Only saw one pickup on the ice there and he drove out drilled one hole and drove...

    Wolf Hunting?

We got home last night but with no wolves in the box! Had a blast, learned a lot, we got more educated by the wolves than they by us, saw three, had one in the box before I pulled the trigger then all went south real fast, ;;;;;;; and the rest is history! Found out just how dark it gets when...

    Tractor Snow Blower

That pin you show is not made to handle the pressure of a shear pin, use bolts as described and you will be fine.

    load info?

Was thinking the same, i am sure the gun is enough but not sure on the bullet? I can step up to a 243 which I have loads that would work, also 270 which seems a bit over kill but maybe not. Will have to play around this week a bit.

    load info?

I am planning on using my 22-250 when I go wolf hunting. I shoot 35.5 grains of Varget and a 50 grain V-Max bullet in my coyote loads. Will this be sufficient for wolves or do I need a heavier bullet? Any recommendation would be appreciated, I could step up to a heavier bullet, or caliber!

    Wolf Hunting?

I have know this guy for about 12 years, hunted with him numerous times and he is a very straight forward guy. He has been sending me pix for the past few months and I have no doubts that he is telling me the truth. He actually drug is trail into the cabin as the ground was wet at 8 a.m. last...

    Wolf Hunting?

Thanks, we are going to try calling also. Talked to a local up there tonight, they have been deer hunting and not seeing much but are telling me that every morning there are new wolf tracks and that they hear them howling every morning before sunup. Who knows? Thanks for the help and "maybe"...

    Wolf Hunting?

I have still not been able to find a good answer to what we can bring across for bait, if any? I have bait lined up, up there with a local deer processor so we should be good there, but never thought of beaver? May have to try to locate a trapper up there? Thanks, - - - Updated - - - I...

    Wolf Hunting?

Thanks, this is on private land that a friend of mine owns in SW Ontario. He has wolves on camera at night and daytime on an almost daily basis. They heard them and had them close to the cabin the last two weeks while up there deer hunting. To his knowledge none of the neighbors have shot any...

    Wolf Hunting?

A friend and I are heading to Ontario wolf hunting in December, curious if anyone has hunted them before and if so, any advice? We are planning to put out bait stations and hope for the best. Have three areas lined up to hunt - hopefully that will be enough for the two of us. Also have an...

    Rifle Season 2015

My sons last first choice tag was when he was 15, he is now 23 so he had to have been in the 8 point batch. BUT he has applied mule buck every year. Didn't bother him until the second season tags disappeared. But he is to far into it to change now! Question on the non-resident mule deer tags...

Mountain Lion hit in NE ND

Yea I understand cat biology and I know the cats preferred habitat, but any roaming cat that comes through the Pembina Gorge area would find that pretty appealing! No different then up here in the Turtle Mtns., not considered cat habitat, but they have been here for a lot of years.

Mountain Lion hit in NE ND

How can the G&F say that NE ND does not have good lion habitat? Seems to me that they could survive there very easily!
