    One tag system

Do I think there could be improvements on the lottery itself - Yes I do think so. These were brought up to them as well. Nothing has come from it though and even they (G&F) seemed to think they were good ideas. Yes! there needs to be something in place and preferably before changes are...

    One tag system

and the problem is with those of us that hunt with family members that live in different parts of the state. My dad still enjoys hunting but he cannot get a deer back to the pickup by himself. So either he would have to travel hundreds of miles to hunt each time or I would. Or we would have to...

    Gun season during the rut?

what big game surveys? I have heard of these mystical surveys but haven’t seen one in about 25 years. That one was a survey on the deer I saw during rifle season.

    One tag system

this is what they don’t get. If something like this were to come to be, i might just switch my primary rifle unit to where I live and still apply. If I don’t get one so be it - I could still buy an otc bow tag.

    One tag system

It may or may not matter. To me it does - your example may not be accurate in the % of multiple tags. I would be interested in seeing the numbers. I looked for them last night but couldn’t find them. in your example those 20 people are choosing to not participate in the archery season for what...

Getting almost as bad as the sconis...... Just Kidding!

    One tag system

Your example would make it seem pretty obvious that you could have had more people hunting however, in your poll we have 26% getting 2 tags. Do we know how many of those included a gratis tag as 1 of them? No we don't. Do we know how many might have been rifle and muzzeloader tags? No we...

    One tag system

Yep, it would add tags into the lottery - I overlooked that. So lets run with that idea with your numbers. 54000 tags 105000 applicants 51.5% of applicants getting a tag. 64000 tags (10,000 more tags) 95000 applicants (10,000 fewer applicants) 67% applicants get tags - this sounds...

    One tag system

You have more more than nothing... right now you have exactly the same opportunity as I do and every other hunter in the state. That is more than nothing. Just an FYI - I have drawn 2 rifle tags in the last 8 years. So I have gone without a rifle tag as well. No tag in the last 4 years so...

    One tag system

This was brought up Muzzleloader cannot be grouped into it at this time. There would need to be legislative action taken to change it. Archery would end up unit specific - the G&F claim that they can't manage rifle units if archery was left state wide. - - - Updated - - - Something I've...

    Gun season during the rut?

Again, wouldn't bother me any. To be perfectly honest - I have only filled one archery tag during the rut and that was this year. Any tags filled in past years have been in September or October.

    One tag system

I know what the definition of BOTH is -- however, maybe I missed it but I have not seen one statement from an archery hunter wanting to take tags or opportunity away from another. The majority of "reasons" for going to a one tag per person have been purely selfish. I.E. I want to get my rifle...

    Gun season during the rut?

Serious answer here - wouldn't matter to me nor would it change how I hunt the rifle season.

Yep, it's all the mean archery hunters fault isn't it. - - - Updated - - - The ribbon may be more appropriate in some cases.

    North Dakota Game Wardens Assc

Obiwan - the g&f flat out told us at the advisory meetings that proposed change was suggested for purely social reasons. There was no biological reason whatsoever to go to a one tag system. The majority of archers are not opposed to a 1 tag system if it needs to be done for biological reasons...

Good grief retired educator - it had nothing to do with wanting to have more than 1 tag. It was the way it was being proposed that we disagreed with.

    North Dakota Game Wardens Assc

I saw that post too and read through some comments. Seemed like a easy way to fine/charge a person for an uncommitted offense. From my understanding, if you were wearing orange during rifle season and carrying a large caliber rifle coyote hunting then they were basically going to assume you...

    Shooting Range Safety

Same thing happened to me at the range in Jamestown when it was open. I was at the 200 yard target and just about ready to walk back when someone 2 benches down fired off a round. Others there chewed him out before I got back.
